Writing this to help you get the best mods for the best experience.

(Search them on your search engine as worded or find mods on residentevilmodding or nexusmods, Steam won't let me post links(?))

Required:
-----------
Fluffy Mod Manager 5000: Mod Manager that allows you to enable and disable mods, see which ones you have installed, etc. (!Works with All Resident Evil titles!)

Recommended:
----------------
Door Skip: Skips door animation for every room (!Must be extracted as an exe, then Run As Administrator. A Mod Manager/trainer version exists but this is the one I use!)

REupscale Project: Dramatically improves textures on backgrounds and environments

Fixed BGM: Fixes Music Tracks that are sped up or pitched up

For RE Fans or repeat playthroughs:
-------------------------------------
1996 OST: BGM plays the original Resident Evil (1996) tracks

1996 Voice Acting: Cutscene voice lines have been replaced with their original 1996 counterparts

Retcon pack: Modifies colors and character designs to be consistent with past and future RE games

RE Deadly Silence Character Models: Replaces character models with their RE:DS counterparts (!Specific characters can have their models changed, will not affect all models unless all files are swapped!)

As for an actual review:
-------------------------
(Background: Beat with Jill and Chris on Hard, then again on Real Survival for both, no save speedrun for Chris, and a long time ago on the DS port of the original)

Masterpiece.

Aside from some of the dated voice acting (2002) and censored player deaths, this is the definitive Resident Evil, replaces the original entirely. The game doesn't hold your hand like a lot of modern games. It takes a good while to get comfortable with the game, but once you do, it lends itself to speedruns and different ways of thinking in order to solve puzzles and survive.

Brilliant. Buy it and beat it if you're interested.

This is my game of the year for 2018. If you want more Hitman, please support and buy it! As for the privacy policy, look at one of the most recent/most helpful reviews that explains it and why it's not a big deal.

Pros
+The amount of content and variety for every level is staggering. You can take so many approaches, it's up to you how you want to play. (For those saying it's "too easy", turn off the story mission guides in the options menu and/or play on Master difficulty.)
+You can play Hitman 1 levels in the Hitman 2 engine. Replaying them with the new UI on Master difficulty is truly a great addition.
+The gameplay feels faster and smoother than the first Hitman.
+Replayability is off the charts, with you trying to master every level and complete all the challenges and gain all the unlocks, almost every runthrough of a mission can be different.
+Contracts return to give you community-made targets and challenges, so new targets never end.
+Visuals can be very good at times and has a nice balance of not hampering gameplay at times.
+This game is the best and/or second best Hitman game to date (Blood Money is first in some aspects, but this game wins in other aspects)

Cons
-The game does have a "tone" so to speak, in that everything is clean and modern, but it is nowhere near the tone and atmosphere of Blood Money. The music is a bit lackluster (Except for some parts in Whittleton Creek), nothing as memorable as Jespyr Kyd's Blood Money ost.
-This "Live Experience"/always online ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ has to go. Why is this still in the game after so many people rightfully knock points off the last game for that? AT LEAST make unlocks and progression available offline.
-There can be minor bugs and glitches at times that remove you from the experience at times (If 47 is wearing glasses, they do not appear in mirrors/getting stuck behind doors/SOMETIMES when attacking an enemy from behind, they will literally TURN AROUND in a split second as if you were in front of them, trigger the front facing attack quick time event, and you will be compromised.)
- The framerate takes a huge hit when you are far away staring at a landscape (Ex. Sapienza, when at the top of the Sapienza Ruins, staring at Silvio Caruso's property makes the framerate go from 110 looking at the ocean, to 30 to 55. I have a GTX 1070.)

Overall, if you are a fan of stealth games/Hitman games, this is a must buy!
Thank you for reading my review.

What started as a promising return to a storied series ended up being a disappointing game that gets very repetitve. This game would be acceptable at $20, but $60 for a story that loses its steam about 1/3 through, repetitive/LIMITED enemy types (seriously, where in the HELL is the enemy variety of the previous games, like hunters, lickers, crows, zombies, plants, etc.) The molded got old incredibly quick and the insects became more of a nuissance than a terrifying threat. I was severely let down by this games lack of triple monitor support (in 2017, how Capcom doesn't support this on RE4,5, and 7, is simply lazy and infuriating.) This game just ended up being dull and infuriating, makes me question whether to follow hype and whether I can trust Capcom to make the classic gems they're known for anymore.

If you don't want to lose 400+ hours of your life to rocket-car soccer, don't buy this game.

I must say that just finishing Hitman: Blood Money recently was excellent. In comparison, this Hitman is missing Jesper Kyd's legendary soundtrack and the darker tone of Blood Money, but this is essentially this is a polished, modern Blood Money. Though this game isn't very innovative, it is tons of fun to get creativitiy and just let the game happen whether you get caught or not. Lots of replay value with contracts, though I wish the targets would not hang in crowds so much, it's nearly impossible to lure them anywhere or wait for the moment when they're alone like in Blood Money. Other than that, this game is a must buy for anyone who loved Blood Money and Hitman. <3

This game is definitely playable, I get 60 fps on max settings (with FXAA and no v-sync) and performance is pretty good. I have a 4790k and 390, so I'd say I'm suited for good performance. Some of these people must be playing at too demanding settings for their rigs or their particulary rig is not well suited for the game. Decent optimization, nothing terrible, but it's not super smooth all the time. There are occasional dips but usually while loading a mission (SECRET: press cap lock to speed up the process of the long load time in the mission loading screen) and when you first arrive at a mission, but gameplay wise it seems to be just fine. There are bugs, none that are game breaking in my playthroughs, but they are a bit strange and take out you out of the experience (ex. screen randomly goes black during enemy turn while UI is still on, clipping through walls/objects, shooting targets directly and bullets go STRAIGHT THROUGH THEM WITH NO DAMAGE.) With all of these things in mind, the game is still excellent. It is more difficult than Enemy Unknown (I had to restart the first mission so many times, so I would definitely recommend starting out on rookie.) It's better than it's predecessor as it's more XCOM in new exciting ways. Customization is more personal now, though I wish there could have been more English with accents and a lot more faces (or sliders so we could do it ourselves.) At it's core, it's improved the XCOM formula and made pleased to be playing XCOM again after the first one got a bit stale (after 90 hours w/ Enemy Within.) I highly recommend it.
