This DLC is one of the stupidest designed I've experienced - way worse exploration than the base game and I'm not going to be gaslit into thinking otherwise.

Whereas in the base game you can read some Nomai text and have a good idea of what it's telling you and how it might fit in with everything / where it might be directing you to explore next, this DLC is just aimless wandering with you looking at some vague symbols or pictures and going "okay?" until you look at the ship log and it explains to you what you might have to look into next. Of course, you still don't have much context as to what you just saw was, you just get told if you've explored all of an area or not by the ship more or less.

The water traversal is annoying at best and actively hinders exploration at worst. The currents are strong enough to push you away from something you may want to explore despite just being a few feet away, forcing you to take a solid minute or so running around the entire ring (after finding a raft that is hopefully nearby) in order to get back to a place you were right next to.

I finally got completely fed up with dealing with this DLC's annoyances once I realized a door that you need to get into to access 95% of a building is blocked off by a stone face until it's knocked over by the water - that's right, the creators of that building planned for it to be knocked over in order for people to access most of its interior. Genius architectural design. No notes. Absolute cinema.

All in all this expansion is just not fun to play. I don't even care to learn the rest of this story because it would mean me dealing with all of what I have been slowly getting more and more annoyed with for several more hours.

"wahhh 4k wahhh 120fps" bro do you know how painful it was for me trying to emulate this before they ported it to pc? 10 fps max on The Boss. I'm just happy I can play this great game now as it was originally meant to be played.
