Several years ago my uncle went to a garage sale and picked up this game for me for the low sum of $5. 3,000 hours on the disk version and now over 100 hours on the steam version I cannot emphasize enough how much value you get out of the game. I was truly excited to see that Warlords Battlecry III came to steam although some of the balance changes are undesired they tend to make the game better overall unless your trying to play a necromancer or as the demon faction, since both of these suffer from summoned units despawning after a timer which is by no means off set by the fact they no longer use population. Besides bringing back the old summoning system there really isn't anything I would change about this game. Hope this review inspires atleast one person to check this game out, you surely won't regret it. I hope one day we will get a Warlords Battlecry IV but given the age of this game I doubt such a glorious day will ever occur. Now if you will exccuse me, I need to recruit hordes of mercenaries and exterminate the snakemen, and perhaps just a little burning down the world with my pyromancer/alchemist minotaur hero.

p.s. several factions and even more hero options means replayablity is not something you will worry about as there is 100,000s of combinations, maybe not that many but its alot, even with all my time in the game i have really only played 2 of those options out sufficently to become a pro at them.
