Starfield had nothing interesting to say, barely anything interesting to do, and barely anything interesting to discover. If anything, the most thought-provoking thing about the game is the absurdity of these characters talking themselves and their world up with nothing but those words backing those claims. Space doesn't pose a threat, characters are cliche, and factions that should be genuinely dangerous just aren't.

It feels like an adult children's book that wants you to believe it's more serious than it actually is.

A ton of missing things from CSGO were not added to this game, which would be fine if not for Valve full-on replacing CSGO with CS2.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay of Alyx is a sort of double-edged sword. There are intense moments, both on Alyx's and the Combine's side, keeping you at the edge of your seat, staring at your health bar, hoping it won't disappear. However, there is the time between said moments, where you try to track the headcrab or in the headcrab's case, run away from the player. These can be a bit repetive. What often happens, especially with the main quest, is that you don't even see the quest until it is stage two or three. For me, this gameplay is fine, but for more "impatient" players this may turn them away from the game a bit.

VISUALS

Running on the Creation engine, the visuals in this game are naturally very good. The colors pop out and the different environments in the maps are rendered very well.

MAPS

The map variety in this game is stellar, ranging from insane vistas, to tiny corridors, and each map section has its own set of effects. The developers also have not stated that they will be releasing DLC maps for free, only charging for nothing and nothing.

VERDICT

All in all, I think this game is fresh, and a welcome reprieve from the monotony that is the modern VR industry. The closest comparison that I can draw to this game is Boneworks, having some similar mechanics. I enjoy this game a lot, and I rate it 10/10

The map variety in this game is stellar, ranging from geothermically active areas, to decimated wastelands, and each map section has its own set of effects. The developers also stated that they will be releasing DLC maps for free, only charging for new player skins and repair kits.

The gameplay of Evolve is a sort of double-edged sword. There are intense moments, both on the monster's and hunters' side, keeping you at the edge of your seat, staring at your health bar, hoping it won't disappear. However, there is the time between said moments, where you try to track the monster(or in the monster's case, run away from the hunters). These can be a bit repetive. What often happens, especially with the Wraith, is that you don't even see the monster until it is stage two or three. For me, this gameplay is fine, but for more "impatient" players this may turn them away from the game a bit.

This game is honestly one of the best that I have ever played. A great storyline and replayability of epic proportions (Mods, side quests, ect.). Also, as other reviewers mentioned, you will not be able to install this game on windows 7 and above "out of the box". However, it is pretty easy to do so by following the numerous YouTube videos that are out there detailing the process.
