Story is set up immediately making it very engaging. Begins to be a little stale mid-game but then picks up a lot in the end. There are a lot of twists and shocking moments. Love how you develop your own theory and then the game shows you an even cooler story (i thought saren was just a "i want to control the universe" bad guy).

Combat is super outdated and very repetitive to the point where it was boring and the sniper is the only viable weapon. The mako was an interesting change of pace but also became very repetitive and was super sluggish and chonky (2007 tbf).

The romance was interesting but wasnt fleshed out enough, I felt like I didn't really need to try and Ash was all over my "great ass" O' captain o' captain.

Overall, very good game for it's time and is key for the other games.

Pretty cool game, obviously its in pretty early stages but it's quite fun even where it is now.

I do think a minimap would help ALOT though

To start, this game has been in production for 7 or 8 years and it shows, the game is abundant with main missions, side missions and other activities in Night City. The landscapes CD Projekt Red made are awe inspiring and pretty much any part of the game is "wallpaper worthy".

The combat, could be improved, but it's a story driven game so I didn't expect the best combat or stealth system. The driving can be quite weird to control at times also.

Pros:

Amazing scenery - Large open world

Crazy volume of missions and activities

Large skill trees for those who love building them up

Good choice of weapons, clothing items, cyberware, etc.

The choice to create relationships the way YOU want to, whether that be friendly, rivalry, romance, etc.

Cons:

Buggy as all hell, but that is the nature of games on release. Some bugs are fine and do not interrupt the flow of the game but some, are "load last checkpoint" worthy which can be a little irritating.

I get this FPS drop to ~5fps randomly, loading last checkpoint fixes it so I'm assuming that's not my PC's fault.

The visual noise on a few cars in certain lighting is troublesome, especially on lower end PC's or on lower graphical settings.

Conclusion
I definitely would recommend this game, if you want to wait until a few more patches and updates come out to fix the game-breaking glitches then that would be a smart idea. The experiences with bugs that I've had, do not spoil the game for me.

Another thing I've seen is people complaining about the FPS. I had ~45 average before updating my drivers (I had that weird tree glitch if anybody knows what that is) and when I updated, I now get a pretty consistent 30fps. With a Ryzen 5 3600, and a 1060 6GB, I did not expect fantastic frames, but on High settings with these components, I still get an amazing story-driven experience and it does not feel choppy at all.

Bottom Line: Should you buy this game?
Yes.

If you are seriously bothered by bugs, just wait to buy it a little longer. (If you already have it, just wait too, I don't think a refund would be necessary)

Graphics have definitely improved, glad to play such a nostalgic game again

It has a good story. The missions are very deep and very well done. The characters all have important parts in the game and the voices are spot on. The names are great and the driving experience is quite nice. The police are strict and that is good because unlike GTA the cops acn go after you for a small crash or speeding.... Unfortunately there are a few problems with the game such as the missions don't stop they continue and continue, you don't have time to free-roam. When you finish the game you aren't able to free-roam and if you load up an old chapter you have to do the mission and then to my first point, you have to do another straight after that... The graphics aren't the best but they are quite good. Small things such as an extra sound when you wipe your hands after eating a sandwich or not opening your mouth when drinking. The game is great in the end and unfortunately I have'nt played Mafia 1, if there is one but still GREAT game all-round!

it is an amazing free roam, different map, sandbox game! the multiplayer is amazing - TTT, Prop Hunt, Murder, Sandbox, etc. DEFINITELY GET IT!!!!
