Early Access Review
I have played very few games that allow the vast amounts of freedom this game does to be who you want to be. The story is relatively linear, but there's so much to dig through and see between dialogue choices, traits, and just your own observation that it invites replaying, even with only four chapters out.

This game is only going to get more worth the price, and by the time all 7 chapters are out, it will feel less like a replay and more like visiting good friends.

I have developed a habit of wandering away from stakeouts to rob the neighbors out of boredom and asking random people on the street for their name and fingerprints.

8/10, hella fun could use more murder variety and stuff to rob.

On top of both the main gameplay loop and the sushi minigame being hella fun, the game is super charming. All the cutscenes are super dramatic, the art style is cute, and the character relationships develop in a really wholesome direction so far. It definitely has that "found family of weirdos" vibe.

The Fatal Frame games have been my favorite horror series since I first played 2 in 2004. I got an Xbox specifically to play it back then.

This isn't the best entry in the series, but it has the spooky atmosphere and great world-building I've come to expect from the series. This game is particularly stingy when it comes to health items, and there are some fights that are just straight up get good or get wrecked even on Normal difficulty, which can be good or bad depending on how tense you like the fights.

All hail the Lamb, herald of The One Who Waits. Well, The One Who Wifes now, I guess.

The story's pretty interesting, but there are other walking simulators I enjoyed more. Worse than that, though, there is a scene that feels just gratuitous that I can't play again. I get the point of the scene, but they could have done literally ANYTHING else. So I can't really recommend this one. It was better than Dear Esther, though, so there's that.

As for this game, I enjoy the story and characters enough to be able to overlook the problems and enjoy it for what it is.

I want to shill a little bit for the tabletop RPG here, though. It is a super well made game with good mechanics. If you enjoyed the story, setting, and/or general vibe of Cyberpunk 2077, find a GM or someone willing to learn and give Cyberpunk RED a shot.

Edit: I just randomly ran across Mike Pondsmith explaining where CyberGeneration fits into the new timeline over the radio. This game is now unequivocally worth every penny to me.

It's a little late for this review, pretty much everything that can be said has been. Play the game if you haven't, it's awesome, be prepared to cry.

If you want more info on the world, MrClemps on Youtube has some good lore videos on the Drakennier games.

Usually frustration in games makes me swear to myself. This game's snappy combat pace doesn't give me time to get frustrated. I did get to shout in triumph upon beating a boss, though.
