This game has so much potential. The graphics are great and some of the new additions really do compliment the game well. (Being able to close doors, unlimited zip ties, new ways of hacking and other security features) But what they did well is very over shadowed with what they has messed up. No single player? come on, that basic stuff. The weapons are nice and feel nice to use but leveling them up is even worse than the COD franchise.
Another thing that bothers me is the amount of security cameras in every map. When you walk down any corridor there's automatically 3 cameras pointing at you. They should revert the old cameras back but make it so you can move the direction in which they face. They also need to add new missions because after playing 3/4 hours you've basically completed the game then it just back to grinding the same mission over and over again to level up your weapons.

By far a downgrade from PD2 but hopefully with some time they can fix it. But knowing Starbreeze you'll have to buy the DLC for that.

Currently it's a do not buy form me.

I've played this game a few hours now and there's a few things I wan to comment on.

Firstly- It's a really good looking game. They haven't tried to be overly realistic and not massively cartonish , just a nice balance which is nice on the eyes.

Secondly-A seemly very annoying part about this game is the Mob Re-spawn rate. You can be trying to clear a village solo and you could end up killing the same enemy 3/4 times. Especially if you main range weapons. Some Mob timers are what feel like 15/30 seconds which is awful to pay against if you are a low level solo (Such as myself)

Thirdly-Choice of weapons. The choice of weapons is something different in this game. Instead of having hundreds of different weapons you have a number of set base weapons (Sword, Rapier, BattleAxe, Hammer, Ect...) And you have to use them to level the skills on that particular weapon class. It's a good system and is quite rewarding when you level that class up.

Fourthly- The size of the map and lack of faster transportation. One of the biggest gripes about Newworld is how much walking you have to do. Even at the start of the game you have to walk minutes in a straight line to get to the next quest. Later on the distances get longer and longer. You will often find yourself walking 3-5km just to get to the next quest location. There is a fast travel option but you have to pay for it with a specific currency and also be inside a main location for it to be enabled.

Optimization is also a big problem, out in the wilderness it is fine and you will get a nice steady framerate but once you enter some of the cities (Which aren't actually that big - 100m x 100m ) your frames will tank and it just gives off a disappointing feel.

Right at this moment is a good base for a game with so much potential but currently there's just too much to be ironed out to recommend it. Hopefully Amazon Games listens to the community and sees these's issues and addresses them.

10/10 would order my settlers to dig themselves into a big hole that they cannot get out of again

A game that has over time gotten worse and better at the same time.
Worth the money if you want a decent game that's more about surviving other people and not the actual game.
Be prepared to put in a few hours and this game can consume you
