I was very skeptical when I heard about Frostpunk 2. I feared it would be just a city builder, with the factions/politics mechanics and in the Frostpunk universe. I was wrong. The game is a great sequel to all who loved the first game. While yes, the first game was closer to home, and every death counted, Frostpunk 2 takes it to the next level with a new problem: our coal supply is ending, New London's outposts have been destroyed by the whiteouts and we now need to find a new supply of fuel, while dealing with the different factions warring between themselves.

I played 11h already, and I still want more and more and more.

Early Access Review
Absolutely great. The gameplay loop is very addicting, and I often find myself thinking "Just one more day so I can do [insert anything from improving the tavern, to finishing a new batch of beverages]"!

I got this game a year ago and at first felt very overwhelmed with all the recipes for food and drinks, and ended up just abandoning the game in hopes it would get better. I honestly do not remember if the game changed, or if I did, but all I know is since I've started playing again recently, I'm hooked.

It's a cozy game that seems to be improving with every update, and I look forward to it being great. If you played Stardew Valley, it's the same vibes.

Early Access Review
I bought this game expecting an Early Access Game. The game feels finished. Of course it could use with more stuff, which I'll list below the ones I'd like to see in the near future:

-More businesses types,
-More models for cars and characters,
-Nicer furnitures should give a bonus to happiness (that way we would need to decorate our apartment not just for cosmetics - and this should be true for businesses as well, especially offices!),
-Interactions with NPCs - New York feels empty and shallow, people only appear in stores when you go in, if you leave and go back in, it will be empty again.
-More places to visit and spend money, like Dance Clubs, Country Clubs, and if we are able to interact with NPCs, maybe add a few unique NPCs which we can befriend/romance, and a few rivals as well,
-And if we do get more stuff to do on our free time, we need a slower timescale. Sure, the timescale is fine right now, but once we get more things to do, it's going to be a struggle to do everything we want in a day.

And even with all those 'flaws' and suggestions... The games already feels good to play, it's hard to stop, I'm always like "Just one more day so I can do this last thing". I've played 10h on the same savegame, and I feel like I'm so far away from owning a big yacht (which are in the game by the way, though I don't know how they function, since I'm too poor lmao). And I mean it, a yacht costs millions of dollars, and I'm making like 13k a day (and spending a lot restocking my warehouse).

If you like tycoon games, you'll definitely love this, especially if you also enjoy life sims. Granted, you only need to eat and sleep, and like I said, there's no interactions with NPCs, except with store clerks, but the tycoon part of the game, managing your businesses and making sure your warehouse is always filled with enough products to deliver to your stores is pretty damn fun.

I'll leave their roadmap here: https://www.bigambitionsgame.com/roadmap

I found this game randomly while browsing Steam games and it seemed like an interesting game with nice graphics. It surpassed my expectations. I only wish it was longer because it's that good. It took me 15h to get to the final boss, but I could get a few more hours to try and get more unlockables.

It could use a little tweaks, as keyboard shortcuts, automating the purchase of TVs/Consoles. But I have played over 24h, I didn't find any serious bug, it was hard learning how to play, but once you understand the game a bit better, you really start accumulating a lot of money.

Game is kinda cool, I guess. Gets boring after a while, I played a total of 14h over a few years. The reason I won't recommend this game is because of the dev and what he says in the patch notes. All I want from patch notes is changes to the game, updates and roadmaps. Not political speech. Also he's threatening to not update the game any further on Steam, so stay away.

Here are some examples of what he posts on PATCH NOTES:

"if you're a man who has inverted his penis into a vagina"

"TAKE OFF THE FCKN MASKS - Next time you're at the grocery store, try showing a woman your face. Be confident, unafraid of the LIES -- you might get a girlfriend. Women like confidence. Women don't like dudes who cover their faces in fear. What are you afraid of? Getting laid? Grow up."

"get off them porntubes and do something with your life becuase no one is gonna give you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing and this whole mess we call civilization is only getting harder. we need solutions and we need smart men who can work hard and implement those solutions. masturbating to egirls isn't gonna solve the energy crisis is it? get to work."

Dev, no one wants to see these messages, and definitely not on the patch notes. I believe political speech on patch notes are also against Steam's rules. So...

Stay away from this game. If not for the political bs, then for the dev threatening to stop updating the game on Steam.

Game has a nice foundation and the potential to be super fun, but it's not worth it right now. Gamebreaking bugs, sidequest bugs, visual bugs, save bugs, it's honestly more bugs than game at this point. Not to mention lack of content. Game right now is so easy you can beat the game in less than 5h, if you don't encounter a gamebreaking bug before that.

Yes, there are bugs. Crashes. Balancing issues. Optimization problems. Missing features. It's Early Access. And I already love this game. It's just like Warband, but better.

The Clan System, Influence to vote on policies for your faction, having children and keep playing through them after you die. Seeing other nobles dying and their clan carrying on with his heir.
The huge map. Some places are gorgeous. The factions seems unique.
Even the character creator is awesome.

There is a major gamebreaking bug though, which is snowballing factions conquering the entire world in less than 300 ingame days, and then you're left with nothing to do, nowhere to conquer. But it will be fixed in the near future, probably. They are sending out daily patches, fixing what the community is reporting.

If you liked Warband, you'll love this, just give it a break and give it time to become the jewel that it surely will become.

Totally worth it. Also buy all the DLCs.

10/10 would buy thousands of DLCs again.
