If you don't know what you're expecting, don't buy this game.
Apart from the technical difficulties some people have encountered and the apparent 'wrong promises', which I have yet to see actual proof of, the main reason this game has gotten so many negative reviews is because people don't understand that a computer has boundaries, whilst human imagination hasn't.

Procedural generation cannot work without set borders for it to work in, which will ultimately prevent 'real' magic from happening.

I personally have enjoyed the game a lot until now, because I simply enjoy the freedom it grants me. The planets are ultimately not very different, due to what I wrote earlier on, but I still enjoy scanning new species and flora, simply bobbing about a planet or getting into some fighting in space or with sentries on a planet.

NMS is a very liberal exploration game and a great milestone in procedural generation. I would even recommend buying it just for the experience, although not at its current price (60$) if you are rather somebody who prefers a linear story or action.

Firewatch is a first person mystery set deep in Yellowstone Park in Wyoming. You're Henry, a mid-aged guy, and have volunteered as a fire outlook for the duration of a summer to escape a life breakdown. The summer in the woods doesn't stay calm though, as more and more mysterious things happen to you and your partner Delilah, with whom you solely communicate via walkie-talkie.

I have truly never been emotionally involved in a game as much as in Firewatch. The story draws you and doesn't let you go until you've finished, although there is hardly any real action. The voice acting is absolutely incredible, seriously the best I have seen in a video game up to now. Dialogs are perfectly written, and the music is fascinatingly beautiful, creating the perfect atmosphere. The story is keot very realistic, however still keeps you sitting on the edge of your chair. I also very liked the graphical style.

The only downside is the short story length - if you rush, you can finish the game in 3,5 hours on your first try. I would guess the maximum time for the story itself is roundabout 6 hours. Of course, you can spend more time exploring the lovely landscape, but that is not part of the storyline for me.

Is it worth the money? Definitely. Even if it's a short experience, I assure you you will not regret spending 20 bucks on it, because it is a piece of art. This game is beautiful and Campo Santo deserves your money.

I bought Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas spontaneously, because I found the graphics interesting and because it reminded me of Zelda - I thought it deserved a shot, although I did think twice about buying it due it being slightly pricy. After two hours of playing it, I was hooked. I loved every bit of the game and I don't think my money could have been better spent.

What makes the game special? The parallels to Zelda games are numerous, but that doesn't have to be a minus. The game has its own charming character and still completely captures the fun of similar games. But I'm not here to talk about Zelda, I'm here to talk about what really fascinated me about Oceanhorn - the extraordinary art style, as well as the great atmosphere. Also, the puzzles in the game just had the perfect difficulty - not teeth-grindingly hard, but not pull-lever-and-win either. I've finished the game at 93% and have enjoyed 22 hours of wonderfully crafted exploration and RPG fun. Thank you Cornfox.

tl;dr: If you like Zelda, buy this game. If you like Zelda A LOT, don't get turned off by the games' Zelda-copying reputation. It has its own mind and it will give you the same magic spark as Zelda did. If you don't like Zelda, Jesus doesn't love you.

I would go as far as calling Dark Souls a future cult game.

The aspect that made the game interesting was its sheer difficulty - at least, its difficulty is the most widely-known characteristic. However, if the sheer difficulty of a game would make it famous and achieve cult status, why hasn't every difficult game come this far? In my library alone I have a handful of games which I would definitely classify as tougher games.
Dark Souls' biggest value is not its difficulty, which can fairly easily be beaten by anybody aiming at making a difficult game.
If I wanted a challenging game, I could just start playing any old arcade flash game and stop when it frustrates me too much.
The developers of Dark Souls have however somehow managed the split between challenging the player a lot and keeping him playing and not quitting out of frustration. It somehow keeps you hooked - if you can't fight a boss because you die every time, you try to find a way of getting stronger and don't just give up out of sheer frustration.

The dynamics of the game work great - easy controls which don't conflict with each other and a fun fighting system.
The maps and the enemies are creatively forged together to create a unique, fantastic but also dark atmosphere. And if you are a fan of subtle storytelling, you are going to adore this game.

If you just want to rush through the game, you won't be confronted by quests you don't understand and insanely long cutscenes, but if you'd like to know the story behind the game, you'll have a great time putting the pieces together which the game provides you with.

After sixty hours, I finished Dark Souls for the first time - I didn't even realize I had the extra content of the Prepare to Die Edition, so I'm extremely looking forward to playing it in my NG+ attempt.
Dark Souls is a challenging game, there's no denying it, and I regret to say that it did get me yelling at my screen at times - but it's definitely worth the effort. Not a single minute was wasted playing Dark Souls.
For me, it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played.

A must-buy.

After having completely finished the game, I can only recommend buying it.

It's one of those games that seeks perfection - the perfect run with a perfect bullseye and a cherry on top afterwards.
Runner2 can, like any game with a similar concept, be very frustrating at times, the feeling after finally getting a perfect run is however so rewarding that it's worth the time invested.

I kept running until there was no more to run on, and I am truly satisfied by this fast-paced perfectionist game, and am proud to be able to call myself the "Perfect Perfectionist".

"Deceptively simple. Infinitely complex."
Wide words perfectly describing this minimalistic puzzle game.

Although some levels seem to take hours to solve, the atmosphere of the game prevents you from getting frustrated.
If you ever complete all levels (which is tough, seeing as I am not finished after over 20 hours of playing), more daily content awaits you, resulting in never-ending minimalistic puzzling fun.

If you like puzzling, please buy this game. You will not regret it.

Age of Mythology was the number one game of my childhood, so when I saw an upcoming remake, I directly bought it, no matter the high cost at the time.
After 40 hours of playing, I'm glad to say that the team of AoM:EE has done a great job of keeping the old atmosphere of the game by not changing much, however still making it better through the new functions and new graphics.
The huge plus the extended edition delivers is Steam Integration - Finally, we have a functioning community which does not only consist of AoMHeaven, but of a better developed Steam Community with all the Steam Features. The Workshop grants great accessibility to Mods and the recent Updates, the Ranking system, the events and the loads of achievements guarantee long-term playability.

The big question: Is it worth the money?
If you enjoy real-time strategy and haven't played Age of Mythology before, I would highly recommend buying AoM:EE. It is THE classic real-time strategy game, which is, in my eyes, even better than Age of Empires and the EE with all its features is pretty cheap for a brand new strategy game for you, comparing it to other strategy games on the market.

If you have already played AoM, I would not recommend buying it at its current price. It has many new features, but if you know the game already, it's just not worth the money.
Buy it, but wait for a major sale.
