Early on in the game, there's an area with some drunk goblins sleeping and a cracked wall. Cracked rubble and walls can often be blasted with Force damage spells, which is already a cool application of things like Eldritch Blast. The problem is these spells are often loud thanks to verbal components as well as the spell itself.

This wakes the goblins, who are annoyed but can be persuaded to go back to sleep - but there's no way this will work twice. So what do you do to avoid combat? Cast silence on the sleeping goblins of course, then cast all your fantastically loud spells without repercussions.

It's moments like these that make you and your party go "That worked!?", and feel really nice to pull off. The example I mentioned is very tame, and is only the tip of the iceberg.

This game has a lot of depth, and we're only 20 hours in. It's just a really good time and a nice refresher compared to most games on the market at the moment.

Big Chungus.
