10/10 game/story, but here's some things you should know before buying:

1. While it is a extremely replay-able game, you cannot replay, without overwriting your saves entirely (as of 11.16.25)
2. The deluxe edition is not worth it at all, it provides some cool art, and comics, but for 11 dollars is not worth your money.
3. This game is pretty NSFW, with a lot of swearing, but both nudity and swearing can be censored in settings.

LITTLE TO NO SPOILERS

IMO-
This game is closer to an Looter-Shooter than a RPG at times, a slight divergence from the standard established Fallout brand.

TL;DR: This game gets WAY too much hate, while it has its large flaws and strengths it is still an extremely enjoyable time for all, Including fans of previous games. Also, mod it!
Overall: 8.5/10 game, worth buying in its current state.

Pros-

-The voice acting by nearly every (I can't think of an exception but I'm sure they exist) character/NPC is really good, and immersive.

-Companionship is one of my personal favorite parts of this game, with extremely layered stories, without spoilers characters like Curie have entire full fledged story-lines and character development!

-The games combat is very immersive, versatile, and enjoyable. Combat has been a point of contention in previous games, so this is a huge improvement, being much less dependent on V.A.T.S than others. (I really enjoy melee playthroughs and recommend going for one if you haven't)

-Active modding scene, with many talented modders, for the large majority of your modding needs, everything from complete reworks and overhauls to... "Explicit Content".

-Fun Plot Twist(s) if you haven't had them spoiled in the past decade!

-The game is somewhat cheap, and often on sale, for example its currently 15 with all DLCs.

-The DLCs are awesome and very comprehensive, I personally love Nuka-World, and they almost all add 10+ hours of content (arguably).

-Weapon system is just awesome, everything from building the most stacked boxing gloves known to man, to building a gun that shoots like 10 nukes.

-Legendary enemies are always an adrenaline rush (for me), whether that means turning a** and getting out of there or beating in a glowing cockroaches head.

Middle (Neither pro nor con, or both)-

-FO4 is Extremely replayable, but can feel at times like its story is built around doing so. Along with this idea, there is many different build types and play styles.

-Settlement building was a new concept and feature at the time this was made, which is overall a positive introduction to the game(s). But with that, the settlement building is janky at times (at best) with its lock-ons, and has many shrubs that bud out of buildings, but aren't scrap-able, ruining immersion (for me at least). The terrain is also often difficult to build on, or at least foundations specifically. It's also very limiting in choices, in almost every regard (e.g. Not enough wall types, floor, decoration, and jobs.) BUT, this can all be fixed or at least helped heavily with mods, and hopefully will be more polished in future games if the feature re-appears.

-Characters are sometimes stereotypical and predictable, with few arguably few companions. As said previously companions are an extremely improved upon feature, so they are an exception, with this most applying to characters that are unable to become a companion. Romance system is a bit confusing at times, and slightly

-If you've played previous games, you will notice that you main character is voiced in this game, and speaks all voice lines. Not a bad or good thing, but good to keep in mind.

Cons-

-Story can feel very linear at times, and somewhat limiting as you're forced to pick between few polarizing factions, that are starkly different and none of which most people can fully agree with.

-Character choices often feel more limiting than for example Fallout: New Vegas, often feeling as if the game is very specifically pointing you to certain paths.

Conclusion-
I honestly had a great time replaying this game, I did so a while ago (previously played it on PS4) but had forgotten a lot, to be honest I prefer it over New Vegas (I played Vegas more than my steam says, I've used mod-loaders a lot more) as it has become a comfort game of sorts for me. I think that based on standards and preference this is a much more polarizing game than many others, with most Fallout fans having strong opinions one way or the other. 7-9/10 range (for me) I gave the game a range because there is certain times when i despise the game and some that i want to kiss Bethesda on the lips.

Hai! I'm Millie, this is my first somewhat comprehensive review, so feel free to give input or tips! I made this mostly for my love of the game itself but some steam points are a plus lol.
