all suspense built up to nothing meaningful. don't believe the hype

reminds me of keep talking and nobody explodes but for singleplayer. overall fun game for a few bucks, like that you have to keep track yourself what properties the game gives to you. the only criticism i have is it suffers from a terrible rng system, where sometimes you're just dealt bad cards and there's nothing you can do. it's no fun when you're in a make-or-break round in double or nothing and the game decides to give you four inverters while the dealer gets actually useful items. i still like the game but times like those it's just not fair, and these situations happen often enough that it's a problem

halfway thru campaign now, can say it's good... sometimes. individual battles aren't that bad but as soon as a room gets crowded the combat does not hold up since enemies take two headshots to stun now and it's easy to get stuck on people when trying to melee someone who's stunned. movement isn't as fluid because of how sluggish leon feels and i've had several times the game improperly registered what i wanted to do like running the wrong direction trying to quickturn or pulling out the wrong weapon from the quickswitch which got me killed multiple times. shooting galleries are needlessly tedious to get all the skulls due to leon's aim bobbing around and random weapon spread even if you're "fully accurate" (i don't care if the hit reticle is larger, my shot should at least land within the crosshairs, this game isn't cs). this fundamental flaw in the shooting makes the galleries unnecessarily difficult and unfair such that even a skilled player has to leave it up to the game's randomness to determine if their shot hits or not. not to mention the game randomly freezes or crashes on occasion so you might miss because of the program itself failing. some weapons stand out as "don't use these" like the bowgun with its obnoxiously slow projectile speed, striker with spread so wide it spans 3/4 of your screen, and tmp being wildly inaccurate with such a large hit reticle. although this game has made me mad more than anything else, i'm happy to see a game i've played before remade in a modern light, but there wasn't a pressing need to try, and in some ways, when remaking something so close to perfect, there's nowhere to go but down. also the spatial audio is really bad for some reason, i'll hear enemies closer or in the opposite ear of where they actually are pretty regularly, and it's true that ada's va performance is subpar. but i will say regenerators are far more terrifying now that they can run

you can wear the helmets

short and sweet. do wish characters were a little more fleshed out, but overall good experience

blinking simulator, story makes up for lack of movement

only gripe is the illusion of choice, as what you do doesn't really change the ending though i suppose that does relate to the story in a way

this game is perfect for the medium of vr, please port it
