Following Saints Row the Third is the fourth game that goes even beyond boundaries of what SRIII offered. I don't want to spoil too much but after a parody of Apocalypse Now follows a parody of Armagedon with Aerosmith's "Don't want to miss a thing" and a Alien Invasion by the most sophisticated Alien either, he even quotes Shakespear and MacBeth, being voiced by J. B. Blanc (who played Dr. Barry Goodman on Breaking Bad and is otherwise known from a lot of games and animes like Naruto, World or Warcraft or as the voice of Bane in Arkham Origins)

The big criticism this game has seen was the fact that the side quests are always the same mini games: jump up a tower, destroy everything in a tank, run a track like sonic or load up a virus by killing a ton of enemies and while it's true that this gets repetitive after a while, i have to saw with all the superpowers and crazy weapons at your desposal it doesn't get boring, you can always bring a new gun weapon and experience a fight new.

The main story missions truly shine as they are a parody of various games. Stealth is made look like a joke in a parody of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell, later you encounter "Saints of Rage". You ride a motorcycle to cyberspace, get into a text adventure where you have to find your way through multiple choice answers and do some quick time events.

The Voice acting is again awesome with Keith David acting as a politican and in one of his last big projects the late great Rowdy Roddy Piper plays himself, having Keith David here too of course leads to a recreation of the classic movie The Live.

The weapons and superpowers you have, you are a super hero in this game with extreme powers, you can shoot fireballs, hover cars in the air only to shoot them at opponents or run faster than light speed. While that makes cars obsolete you can still use cars and tune them in the rim store shop.

The Music is alos great again with various radio stations and a ton of licenced songs, like in SR3 you can make your own mixtape but you can't import your own music.

I played it several times now, in co-op it's even better and a ton of fun. I can only recommend it.
