I've been waiting to leave a review on this but I do feel it's now appropriate. I absolutely love this game. If you're looking for a building/construction simulator game with some light life-sim aspects and a very unique atmosphere look no further. The game takes place in a fictional 1980s British town down on its luck and you've just inherited a run-down shack of a property along with a predatory loan. Game starts off as you slowly work your way out of abject poverty and you begin to meet the local residents and with a bit of "graft" you're home can be built and finished!

However that's just the tutorial so to speak. Now the real "Landlord" aspect starts and the game opens up from there for you to do anything to landlording, upgrading your property and buying quality of life upgrades for your new storage plot, house-flipping, or if you choose and save enough money, building your dream home from scratch to retire!

While the game mainly focuses on the building aspect; the town and characters are fun and charming and quite diverse, albeit they could use some work in the conversation department. The town is wonderful to explore and game rewards you with various things for your time finding them. With the seasons and weather, the environment of the game goes from picturesque locations in the British countryside, to depressing Thatcher-era run down town and back again.

If you decide to take some time from your busy life as a builder/landlord, there's also building jobs available for the local residents, renewing scrapping opportunity, or just sit down and have a nice fresh beer.

I think this game is great for anyone looking for a nice mix between a building and house-flipper game along with some life-simulation aspects. I would highly recommend this game.

Got really excited when I saw Call of the Wild doing a fishing game. Seemed to be the next step after doing the Hunter, which was a good game aside from some aspects of the game that weren't the best. I got very excited as I had enjoyed The Hunter but The Angler just falls flat. Seems like there's just no one who really wants to make a decent fishing simulator game. It's certainly not the worst but I had much higher expectations from this studio. So much feels left out. If you want a recommendation for a good fishing simulator, try Russian Fishing 4 if you don't mind skill grinding or "pay to win" types of features.

EDIT: There have been some good updates. Maybe a bit too quick to judge as it seems the developers plan on adding some more content and have recently released a free DLC. If improvements and additions continue like The Hunter, this game should pan out to be a pretty good fishing experience

EDIT EDIT: Decided to try and hop on the game semi recently. Instantly crashes to send log screen. Sent log and hoped for a fix, in the meantime verified game file integrity, still crashing. Fresh install, still crashing. Waited for patches, reinstalled and downloaded, still crashing. Don't understand why the game worked fine on my PC when it first launched and now all of a sudden I'm having issues depsite keeping the game up to date and trying various fixes. Posted in the support forum and got zero responses from developers however got multiple responses from others in my same position. I'm removing my positive review and requesting a refund at this point.

Early Access Review
I don't normally leave reviews for games, but I feel as though I should leave one for this game.

First and foremost, the game is difficult, it is a bit frustrating at times, but this is what it is like to build and own a project car. The amount of detail in the car is amazing and you cannot find this in other car games from assembly to driving simulation to repair and maintenance. Sure you can blow a tire in Dirt 3 and change it only with a time penalty, or have some minor collision damage in Forza for slamming into a wall at 100+ mph but other than the looks there is no impact to the vehicle. The real experience is throwing your car through backroads, understeering straight into a ditch and cursing while you try to start the engine only to find that your car is stuck in a swamp and you have zero traction due to the mud, then hitchhiking home to get the truck and tow it out.

When you are not working on the car there is a good bit to do. You can earn money by driving a poo truck and empyting septic tanks with a level of vehicle realism that isn't even present in games like Euro Truck SImulator, or you can chop and sell firewood, you can even go around the map to find junk car finds and sell them to the local mechanic

With new implemenations by a very active developer and community there is always things to do. You can make your own booze, get drunk, play slots, get drunk, go shopping, get drunk, ride your moped, get drunk, go camping, get drunk, enjoy a sauna, go to bar, race other ricers, drink booze, participate in the rally, drink some beer, go swimming, and most importantly get drunk.

Overall, the game is great. I got this game as a Steam greenlight and I've been impressed with every new update. If you know about cars and have had project cars in the past, this is a cheaper alternative to having that experience again, plus when you throw things across your garage in this game out of sheer anger, there is no consequences. If you don't really know too much about cars this game can teach you some basics. How the parts work and how they affect eacother. Give it a shot and you regret it once you finally hear the car turnover for the first time.

I don't want to give a thumbs down since the game is solid but alot of small things kind of get in the way and ruin the action for me. It feels like the game never got out of the beta stage. Very simple server browser tools are gone. (Why not ability to wait for open slot?) Server browser is almost broken. Filters aren't being applied properly, browser will say game is not full but when I attempt to join a game it says it's full. pings are completely off. I would join a server that had <50 ping but once I joined up my ping would rise to >150 although the previous screen just said 50. Graphics aren't very well optimized. I run the game on high and have no real issues but I did have to lower some settings just to get my fps to lock at 60 even though many other high end games run just fine on my computer without the necessity to drop quality for performance. My final thoughts would be although the gameplay is great and one of the more realistic shooters in the sea of arcade style FPS's, but I can't help but feel calling it a "finished product" is a little unfair to the end user. It feels like the developer team pulled the wool over the consumer's eyes especially after many of the issues I have just described were addressed to the developers during the open beta but sadly alot of consumers fell for the "It's a beta what did you expect? They'll flesh it out for release!"
