I haven't played this game a lot, but I don't see myself stopping soon. This game is just amazing.

Don't let the title of roguelike scare you away here. This isn't a "you took heavy damage/lost a lot of health in the first area so you're screwed for the rest of the run and also an idiot" type of roguelike. This isn't an insta-die type of roguelike. This isn't a fight-against-the-clock type of roguelike, and this isn't a meta-dependant roguelike. Hades is way too smart and dynamic for any of those common anger-inducing pitfalls.

One of the most impressive things about Hades for me is the balance. You will not find yourself sticking to a certain "build" or wishing for certain pickups (in this game they are called "boons") to feel like the game is playable for you. Every run is incredibly different but you still never feel behind - and if you get bonked, you know why it was your fault. It's impressive that a game can achieve this much variety between runs without having ANYTHING be blatantly overpowered. That being said, the game allows you entirely to form your own playstyle. The simple design of having weapons be decided before the run, the very "frame" of your playthrough, and then have everything during the run to just further the way you want to play yet still encourage experimentation, not to mention NEVER getting confusing is all genius game design.

And just another note on never being confusing - the gameplay flow throughout a run is flawless. This game is incredibly intuitive and navigates in-run upgrades incredibly well. You always know what your character is capable of and what everything does even after amassing many boons. As someone who's easily confused by video games like this that feature many different damage types and ways to deal them, I will tell you that that confusion just doesn't really happen in Hades. I felt like I knew my character's capabilities at every point of every run and even felt comfortable with experimentation.

If you like roguelikes, and even if you don't, you need to give Hades a try

This is one of those predictable "I don't review games but I had to give this one a positive review because it's one of the best games I've ever played" reviews. Play this game, please.

If there's any game thats worth looking past 3rd party programs and optimization downfalls, it's this one. I've been playing for about 2 weeks now and I think this game is absolutely ingenious. Who thought a MOBA could be this constantly full of action? Or any other related game for that matter, even in Overwatch you spend up to 40 seconds walking out of spawn, haha.

This game is basically taking all the fun, and only the fun elements of MOBAs, FPSs, and 3rd person shooters. Give this game a chance. I'm fully aware of why there are negative reviews here. I know the issues. But this game is so, so, sososososososososo, very, super, extremely worth it. It's a unique and constantly heartpumping experience.

It's fun and has a great idea, but it can get repetitive quickly. It downgrades quickly as you progress, and honestly starting it now is a waste of time.
