In it's current state I cannot recommend this game because, in it's current state, it isn't a functional game. I cannot complete a single raid without the game totally freezing. I would get a refund but I got this from cdkeys.... This is also the last time I'm ever buying a game from cdkeys because I CANT get a refund for this game.

The community has turned toxic. This game will only be playable when they add a strict pve mode. Until then, forget it, this game is awful.
This is THE ONLY game I have this issue with. I'm almost totally out of weapons, ammo and craftables because the game keeps crashing and I lose what little items I have.

This game plays like Metal Slug but its very, very much for Alex Jones fans. If you aren't an Alex Jones fan this game probably isn't for you. But you know what, for less than $20 even if you aren't an Alex Jones fan, but want something purely comdedic, give this game a try! The entire game is dripping with satire.

Graphics 10/10 for a side scroller, there's a surprising amount of detail everywhere
Music/Sound 9/10 The music is great, its mostly heavy metal and the guns sound good for what it is
Gameplay 10/10 It's fun, it's Metal Slug but it's easier
Story 11/10 It's silly af, it doesn't take itself serious, it's supposed to be funny

After spending more time with this game and a new update, I can suggest this game. It's an easier Souls-like. The adventure you go on is very expansive, it seems like the story mode never ends. The areas you explore are beautiful and inspired, the gameplay feels good... it's a pretty good game considering the price!

With the price in mind, specifically, I can absolutely suggest this game.

This comes with some cons, however. There are times when you get swamped with enemies out of nowhere and the difficulty spikes REAAAAAAL bad. Sometimes, you will get shoved into a wall and you can't defend yourself, so you end up dying because the AI spams attacks while you're stuck, and you WILL get stuck on things randomly. There's a memory leak issue that seems to be resolved by resting at a vestige. There's also a lack of enemy variety, but really.... that's the case in almost every game I've ever played.

It's a really fun adventure. There is a story, but I couldn't possibly tell you what it is except there's some old evil that's back and you have to defeat it. I couldn't possibly care less about this game's lore, and the game honestly doesn't force you to care, which I like. Sometimes a game will beat you over the head with the story, and I play video games for the mechanics, not the story.

Ohh, and you can play this game with a friend for free! They can play the ENTIRE game with you, for free! They just can't play the game by themselves for free. That right there is a massive reason to support these devs, you can play with your friend and they don't have to shell out $40 on a game they might not like by themselves.

I'm giving this game a 7/10. It's better than most games out there, but jeeeeeezuz it can be frustrating AF at times.

This game is a buggy mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! During the very first chapter a gnome was supposed to help me up onto a shelf and it NEVER appears!! The first game is quite buggy as well. I would, otherwise, suggest this game but the game softlocks you from completing it so there's no point in playing it since YOU CANT COMPLETE THE GAME SINCE IT ISNT FINISHED!!!!

This game is awful.

The story is there's this building called the Federal Bureau of Control and it's super spooky and haunted and you've got this entity that tells you things and you go to this building because of something that happened a long time ago, and it's troubled you for a long time so you try to figure out why.

No one cares. The building is haunted, whoop dee doo. Why is it haunted? Why does it shape shift? "It always has" ohh great story telling, I dont care now. I don't care about being the director because he shot himself when you arrive, the story does ZERO to make you care.

The combat is absolute garbage, you'll either get 900 enemies spawned right ontop of your face and you can't defend yourself, or the AI is too easy and you'll win, there's no in between. The graphics are fine. The main character is ugly and unlikable.

This game doesn't make you care AT ALL about the story, but it's trying it's absolute best to tell you a story, but can't get you to care. "Winner of over 80 awards, Control is a visually stunning third-person action-adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat." The game does anything but have you on the edge of your seat, it has you wanting a refund.

I usually would be into weird psychological games like this but it just doesn't make me care AT ALL. There's a ton of documents to pick up and it helps build the world around you, but it's just "hey have you read House of Leaves? Ok imagine House of Leaves but with SCP Cryptids. oooOOOOoOOOOoooohhhh spooky ehhhhh? ehhhh?"

No. It's stupid.

There's a puzzle in The Old Boys Club chapter where the solution is supposed to be on the white boards but it's not so you have to look it up online because the devs couldn't be bothered to have fixed the images on the white boards vs the solution of the puzzle.

You can level up your character which is fine, but the moment you develop telekinesis powers and throw items with your mind that's it, it's game over, you're using that 90% of the time. The UI is confusing, the map system is awful and you can't figure out where you're going or where you need to go half the time. You can't move the map either, it's stuck in one position, so if you want to find where you need to go and it's not readily available on the map, tough boobies, run around until you randomly find where you need to be. The super ghost that's hanging around in your dumb head is supposed to show you where to go but in the hours I played the game, only in the very very beginning did this games version of Aiden from Beyond: Two Souls actually show me where to go.

That's another thing too, you have Aiden from Beyond: Two Souls bangin around in your head but the main character suppresses him so much that within an hour you don't care about why this thing is there/not there (because he's not there for MOST of the game.... even though you're in the FBC because he's in your head.... but he's not there during the game... but you're at FBC because he is.....)

I don't know what the devs were aiming for beyond annoying the player to the point of wanting a refund. The MOST I can tell you is they couldn't do Max Payne again, and one of their writers read House of Leaves and liked SCP creepypastas and said hey lets make a game of this and have an ugly female protagonist with an awful personality who has a spooky ghost in her head/dissociative identity disorder/schizophrenia.

I WANTED to like this game. I really did. It's weird AF, but you know what other game is weird AF and I didn't like? The Evil Within 1 and 2. Those games are hot garbage as well.

The ONLY redeeming thing I can say about this game is the idea from House of Leaves, where the inside of the house keeps shifting around and is somehow bigger than the outside of the house..... but that story has already been told.

The combat is butt, the gameplay is "go here, talk to this person, who will then tell you to go talk to that person", the story is "ghost in your head makes you search for a building that's haunted and the men in black need a leader, congrats, you're the new leader, now deal with all the ghosts in the shifting building" the graphics are good for a game from 5 years ago, the characters are dreadful, and the plot development is some 14 year olds creepypasta inspired by SCP.

Not ONCE does the main character, after seeing bodies float around in the air, or a shape shifting building, or going into some weird alternate dimension where an upside down pyramid talks to you, freak out, or even emotionally react to anything around her. NOTHING pops up on this woman's radar as weird, or off-putting, or even scare her... it's all "nope, not gonna tell them about the voice in my head, definitely not gonna do that"

NOTHING makes her react!!!! She's dead pan serious the ENTIRE TIME!!! HOW DID THEY THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA??!!?!?!!?!

Vermintide 2 is LITERALLY Warhammer Left For Dead 2.

If that sounds cool to you, this game is an 11/10. I'm a huuuuge fan of Left For Dead 2 and this game is what a lot of us were looking for, after having played L4D2 for like 500 hours and being done with it.

The graphics are really really good, the gameplay is awesome, you get a TON of items to level up your character, the AI isn't cheap, the bots actually help you if you go down, there's an ai director like in L4D2... there's even camera shots that are BLATANTLY taken from L4D2.

Get this game, it's really fun, it looks incredible, it's difficult but not souls-like, and there's a great amount of depth to it

The combat in this game is so beyond broken that it completely ruins the game. DONT BOTHER.

I know we've all played Skyrim a hundred times but seriously, don't bother with this. Just play Skyrim again or something. This game is hot trash.
