If you haven't played this game yet, I strongly recommend, although I will say some things that you should ready yourself for before your first playthrough
First of all, you will definitely face issues with level scaling, especially if you focus exclusively on the main story and don't really tend to do side quests, you will fight enemies that will either take all your money to fight from dying, or will just take extremely long periods to fight from cheesing, luckily in this version, you have access to the golden chests, use them to your advantage but make sure not to use up too many golden keys too quickly (although theres usually a handful of codes floating around at any given moment)
Second of all, this game is not nearly as good at its successor, Borderlands 2 although I still love this game to its absolute core despite its flaws, you will find some bugs, but they are not game breaking in any situation that ive been in.
For the Pros: when you finally get powerful, the feeling of finally beating something that you've been stuck on for a little while is amazing, weapons FEEL powerful, and depending on who you are playing you can usually make any build work as long as you spec your skill tree the right way.
it has an absolutely amazing story although it has its fair share of "go talk to" quests, I look at them as some free XP to help get me up to scale and there's so many references to pop culture as well as just random things that are riddled throughout the badlands that several years later I'm noticing for the first time.

Overall, if you can pick this game up for cheap or even just skip to the 2nd one, I would Highly highly recommend it, if you enjoyed the any of the borderlands and just missed out on this one, Its never too late to go back and play it, I just recently made a new Hunter and have been having an absolute blast.

If you like zombies you absolutely will not regret buying this, the custom zombies is absolutely breathtaking and I am consistently amazed time and time again from the amount of things that people are adding to this, you can play one map where you are absolutely breezing through playing gun game on a vibrantly coloured map with 40+ perks (Quiet Residence) to 1:1 remasters and reimagines of Call Of The Dead, Mob of The Dead, Transit, Buried, Die Rise, to outbreak style maps (Vae Victis to name one) remasters of Original WAW custom zombies (Cheese cube) and so so SO much more, if you get this and cant find anything, feel free to message me and I can recommend more (Octagonal Ascension, Chungerfizz Tower, Mori Rebirth, the list goes on)
