Changing my review to a thumbs up.

This game should really be labeled as early access as there are many bugs, although not game-breaking or super annoying. Mostly just ui bugs that you can work around. It could use a little more documentation as well.

Other than that this is better than other TCGs, IMO.

You are able to level up your player (not sure what it is good for except you get small rewards when you level up and your level can be seen by other players). You can also level up your general, albeit very slowly. When your general levels up you are able to adjust his health and attack power and also choose is portrait and abilities. You can level up many of your cards as well, with dust. You can get gray dust as rewards for completing adventure matches and colored dust by destroying cards you might have. attained other than by destroying your cards. There are several colors of dust used to level up its corresponding car set, you can use any dust but you don't get full effect for using dust not made for your set. Lastly, there are rare evolution cards that you may use rainbow tokens to alter their powers. This allows you to spend a little extra energy in a match to change your units abilities.

The game has a shop where you can buy rainbow tokens and trade them in for gold or card packs. You can also buy portraits and new art for the back of your cards.

There is PVE as well as PVP. PVE can be played as training matches or adventures. Adventures or similar to other TCGs (normally called 'campaigns'). PVP consists or duels and coliseum matches. The only difference between the two as far as I can tell is coliseum matches give better rewards and you get more rewards for a win streak up to 5 wins in a row. There is supposed to be a battle pass but not sure if it works or if I already have one.

If ui bugs don't bother you then you might like this unique TCG. I like it better than MTG and POKEMON.

Unlimited robbing and pillaging other players on a PVE server. Too bad I have over 2 hours or I would refund. Bad review instead.

Still not a bad game for $7 on sale.

Not an Anno game. If you enjoy the Anno games and expect something similar this is not it. It is so far removed from the type of gameplay I expected that it should not be carrying the Anno title.

Like FTL but with a lot of useless micromanagement.

Pro:
- You can assign your crew to do anything you need (gunner, bridge, etc) and save their positions to reload later.
♥♥♥:
- It doesn't matter because the game will put them wherever it wants anyway.

Pro:
-You can have medbays and droid repair bays to "heal" your crew.
♥♥♥:
-Unfortunately they are too stupid to do this themselves and you have to click on each and every one to manually send them there. Oh yeah and it uses a ton of food.

Pro:
- You can level up your crew and raise their skill point in whatever task you want them to be doing.
♥♥♥:
- They only get a skill point all at once when you clear a level, then you have to click 3 windows for each crew member that randomly pop up wherever and you have to move them out of your way so you can see what you are doing. Very tedious.

Pro:
- You can select where each gun will target your enemy.
♥♥♥:
- Every time you click a gun you get the window annoyingly popping up right in the middle of the screen, blocking things for you. Unless you have a fully-trained gunner, they will probably miss every time anyway. Forget about targeting a single system.

Pro:
- Pirates will try to board your ship so you can fight them off.
♥♥♥:
- Its usually like 8 of them somehow moving right through all your shields and armor and unless you build your ship as a food factory you're not going to have enough fighters to fight them off because you were busy giving your crew roles that actually matter. Oh yeah and there is no way to keep from being boarded except point defenses that try in vain to shoot the boarding party before they land. Also.... enemies can board you, BUT YOU CAN'T BOARD THEM.

Pro:
- Lots of planets, stations and asteroid fields to visit.
♥♥♥:
- They are all pretty much the same and get repetitive.

Pro:
- There are a lot of ways to gather resources... You can fight and salvage your enemy, land on a planet, mine asteroids or buy them at space stations.
♥♥♥:
- You either end up with WAY too much of a resource or none at all. Resource management is a joke.

Pro:
- Lots of cool ship battles.
♥♥♥:
- No way to attempt to escape a ship battle, but your enemies can.
- Usually your one ship fighting against 3 other ships.

This game has all the fun of FTL but all it brings to the table is repetitive forced micromanagement that does nothing to add any fun to the game. The AI is terrible and save/load is extremely broken. The game is designed so you are constantly starving for resources or have too many of a resource. You don't get enough of anything to really customize your ship and you are just at the mercy of RNG. Why have any player input at all when you are just basically watching the game play itself anyway?

There are several different types of encounters but not very many of them. They get bland and repetitive. I would expect to see a little more variety and special events that happen. How about that one rare special event where you get something so cool you can build your entire ship around that one thing? How about being able to customize your ship instead of relying on RNG to do it for you?

I hated giving this game a bad review because I really wanted to like it. All the gameplay elements to make this game fun are there... but misused or just incomplete. It has great potential but it's just a boring game and lacks anything.... fun. The only reason to play it is to learn the UI and see what you are able to do. Once you know this then you can see how you just wasted your money and it's already been more than two hours so no refund for you.

If you ask me this is still an early access game. And frankly I think "early access" is a BS scam to trick you into buying tech demos as if they were a full game. This is not a full game. It needs more, especially for its high price tag for a game such as this.

I am not much of a fps fan, but I do love WW2 games so I gave this one a try.

Even in early access this game surpasses others of its kind.

Things I like about this game:
- Get ready to die! You will die a lot in this game, but dying was never so much fun.
- The maps are beautifully rendered and tactically meaningful.
- Random placement of capture points so playing the same map will still be a different experience each time.
- Areas beyond the "front" are locked and only recon units can build spawn points in locked territory (making them special!)
- Each and every class is USEFUL. Riflemen can drop ammo piles, recon can build spawn points in enemy territory, commanders can see every units map markers and do bombing and air sweeps, etc. etc.
- Sounds in this game are GREAT. A gun firing in the distance sounds like an actual gun firing in the distance. Even voice chat sounds really good with respect to location and distance of the person speaking.
- Weapon loadouts are very balanced and tactically important. Smoke grenades are actually useful.

Some things I didn't like too much (mostly due to early access):
- Default setting of friendly unit icons rendering distance is too low which causes a lot of friendly fire from newbies who have not had a chance to set their distances to ZERO (this reveals the icons of ALL friendlies no matter how far they are).
- Lack of infantry vehicles
- Minor annoyances with the ui (such as having to sit through a loading screen before you are told the server is full)
- Bugs that (on the FOY map) will reveal the location of all enemies through walls and and other obstacles.
- Being unable to walk or climb over small obstacles on the map.
- Buggy voice chat that randomly stops working in various chat channels
- Machine Gunner is pretty useless on maps that are not flat because of very limited rotation when prone with the machine gun mounted on the ground
- Lack of decent admin controls (kicking people out of your unit, easily being able to kick teamkillers, etc)

All-in-all even in this early stage the game is a lot of fun. I was pretty hyped when I first heard about it and couldn't wait until it entered early access. I was not disappointed.

Had fun playing this but there are some VERY BAD bugs in this game. When I say bad I mean you get banned forever for doing nothing, bad. The developer insists I must be running some sort of cheat software, but I am not. Apparently he thinks he is some sort of super-coder who simply cannot make a mistake. Would you want to pour hours and hours into this game knowing you can get banned forever for exactly no reason at all, only to have the developer tell you "tough sh*t"?

The UI is TERRIBLE, along with non-existent documentation this makes the game very hard to play. For example, to chat you have to hit f1 which locks you in chat. If you get attacked while chatting you have to hit f1 again to be able to do anything else. This developer is such a badass he can flagrantly ignore customary keyboard bindings that players have been using for years and years (not to mention lack of rebindings). I'm not even going to talk more about how bad the UI is because it is depressingly bad. Maybe it was worth the price of the game just to see how bad the UI is. I mean the UI is so bad that even if this game were published in the 80s people would still be bothered by it.

Well, you get what you pay for I guess.

EDIT: Well the developer unbanned me, but it was too late to revive my interest in the game. I believe it turned out that Razer Synapse was the cause of the "anti cheating" trigger. Unfortunately it is not a blatant cheating app, and seems like this developer is not alone in banning players for having it (I had this same problem with another game recently).

I originally posted this as a good review, but have since changed it to a negative review
due to the toxic moderators and bug riddled unplayability of this game. When I first bought this game it was in early alpha (back when it was called Oort Online). This is a completely different game than it was in early alpha.

This is like Minecraft on steroids. The game just keeps getting deeper and deeper the more you play. If you like Minecraft and MMOs, you'll probably love this game. It is quite literally what Minecraft would be if it were a MMO (with better ...everything).

The combat isn't that great, but it's primarily a building/crafting/social game, with combat coming in last.

One thing about this game (that is really bad in my book) is movement. Swimming feels like you are trapped in mollasses and you have to hold TWO buttons to swim (one for staying on the surface and another to "sprint"). Everywhere, water AND land you have to hold a button down to sprint, and sprinting is free. Who in their right mind won't want to sprint literally 100% of the time? Literally every other MMO on planet Earth uses a run/walk toggle, but not this game. It's like they want all their players to get carpel tunnel syndrome. The last problem I have with movement is the fact that your toon will not autoclimb a single block, and there are a LOT of single blocks you will have to jump over. If I wanted to do this I would take a time machine back to the 80s and play Q-Bert. The terrible movement and controls feel more like punishment than fun.

Another problem is the community and community managers. They frequently pursue personal vandettas against players and make excuses for taking their own personal revenge against them and cannot take a little criticism. The community seems to be filled with SJW politically correct cringe types, so be prepared for that.

Lag is a big problem in this. Lag is a problem in any game but the way the game client HANDLES lag is the real tragedy here. When you get lagged you lose complete control over your character. You slingshot around, you turn to face another direction, your inventory opens and closes. If you are in the middle of something like smashing blocks you will probably end up smashing something you don't want to smash. And any block you already smashed magically reappears. Blocks you placed already magically reappear but in a different place!

Griefing is terribly easy and there is no way to block/ban trolls.

Chat has been broken since early alpha, it does not work at all if one person is on another planet.

Resources do not respawn and it seems like nobody cares even though it has crippled the economy. So if you get a new planet, go exploit it for resources because it will be the last time you will be able to do so.

I have 400+ hours playing this game but much of that was me playing it as a single player game before release. Since release the floodgates have opened and overloaded servers and caused all sorts of problems including all the noobs who like to grief and troll and of course the TERRIBLE LAG.

Also be aware things are heavily political. A small group of players has a LOT of control over the entire game and they are not afraid to flex their muscle to screw someone.

There are a lot of ways to make money but very few ways to spend money. Inflation is going to be a huge problem in this game as there are NO MONEY SINKS aside from 'taxes' which are anywhere from 7%-10%.

Boundless is riddled with gamebreaking bugs which much of the time render it completely unplayable. The devs seem more interested in adding new items for the microtransaction cash shop (in a game that already costs $40+) than fixing a hopelessly broken game, so I cannot recommend this steaming pile of garbage to anyone. It could be a wonderful game eventually but the way things are going now it is not. You would think this game would be more polished as it has been in development since 2014.

If you have a low tolerance for BS just avoid the forums and go live in the woods like a hermit and you should do fine.

Don't waste your time or money on this. This is basically a clone of all other 4x fantasy games, just not as good. The graphics are pretty but this game has failed to improve upon typical 4x fantasy games AT ALL. When you make a game that has competition in the genre you are supposed to make it better than your competition, not WORSE. It may have done well 20 years ago, but not now. The combat is stupid (your enemies ALWAYS get to move first) and there is no magic. If you want better gameplay you can choose literally any 4x game from the past 10 years and it will also be cheaper.

♥♥♥♥:
Turns are painfully slow
Terrible ai
No way to tell how well your units will fare against an enemy army
No magic you can cast on cities/units/terrain
UI is poorly designed, clunky and slow (same as all the Endless X games)
A lot of these positive reviews look fake to me. Probably employees that were forced to give it a good review.

Pros:
Pretty graphics
Can't think of anything else. This game has nothing on far older 4x games.

I really hate to give this game a bad review because I do see some love went into this and it could be a playable game... someday.

Well I went ahead and took the pluge to try it out. Sorry to say I ended up getting a refund because this is not a $20 game.

There are 4 buildings you can build (Town Hall, Barracks, Archer defense tower, farm), and only a few units (sword, archer, miner, famer and woodcutter).

Farmers build farms, builders build Town halls, barracks and archer towers. Just click on the builder and click on an empty hex and boom it's there instantly.

The gatherable resources are Food (grown in your farms), Iron (mined from mines that you have to find on the map and can't make yourself), and wood (from the few trees on the map that take about 3 seconds to chop down).

GamePlay:
Really, you can see everything this game has to offer within 3 minutes of first playing. You can chop trees, mine and build the things mentioned already.

If there were some sort of progression or goal this game might be worth playing but the only reason to expand or do anything is simply to get more iron and make more troops so you can get more iron and make more troops.

Some things that might make this game playable:
- More resource types ( rare resource types to fight over?)
- More structures
- Leader progression
- Specializations (tech tree, etc)
- More units

Hopefully someday I can give a positive review, but as of now this isn't a game, much less a $20 game. It's tech demo to use to pitch to publishers at best.
