This game is fantastic. Please just play it. And read up on the lore when you're done with it. Knowing the lore will dramatically increase your understanding of and love for the game.

Absolutely incredible game. Easily the most unique experience I've ever had with one. Amazing characters, amazing story, and amazing gameplay!

Additionally, something kinda spoilery but very important to mention as to why I, and you, should play this game:
I implore you to look into a second playthrough of the game after finishing it the first time. It is absolutely worth it and it will make you love the world of this game even more.

Was pleasantly surprised by the game; friends recommended it to me because it was on sale (~$1.50).

It's a blast to play with friends; had a great time messing with them, dying hilariously, and beating insanely difficult levels. The game is easy to pick up--I was able to keep up with my friends in about half an hour, I'd say--but extremely hard to master. A lot of the levels are insanely difficult, usually requiring an unreasonable amount of frame-perfect inputs, deceiving you with fake portals that take you back to the start (from what time I've played as of writing this--about 3 hours--they were all easily predictable that they would do this to you, so you can avoid them), and the levels in general being very long.

This being said, it's what I expected going into it, so I wasn't annoyed by the difficulty or some of the outrageous obstacles in some levels. Likewise, the satisfaction of actually beating a level is extremely high.

I recommend the game, but maybe only if it's on sale. Depends on your tastes and how easily you get mad. Controller is recommended, of course.

Absolutely stunning. A gem of a game.

Gameplay is fantastic, the art is phenomenal and beautiful, and the story is really intriguing. So glad I chose to buy this game.

Edit: I felt the need to come back and further add to this review. A month after beating the game with a 99% run, I'm STILL thinking about it. This game is one of a kind. It easily outdoes ANY Triple A (AAA) title that has come out within the past few YEARS. Strongly looking forward to any more from these guys. 20/10. Would play again. (And again, and again...)

Holy crud what a fantastic game. Easily one of my all-time favorites ever in the history of the world ever and forever.

Seriously though, this game has so much content. It's always fun to play, and there's always a ton to do. I can't help but keep replaying with new characters since each experience is so enjoyable. With that being said, my two favorite aspects about the game are its music and sound effects, which to me are what give the game its charm. I can't help but hum along with the main theme of the overworld and intently listen to the small sounds that're made when mining with a pickaxe of some sort.

Thankfully the game gives you something to continuously strive for over and over, rather than giving you a bunch of content but no motivator as to why you're playing the game in the first place. There are a multitude of bosses in the game, each as interesting as the last, and of course they become progressively more difficult to beat as you progress throughout the "storyline" of the game (there's no real story, just a series of events that you have the option to take part in). Grinding is actually one of the most addicting things in the game. For a lot of games grinding is overly-tedious. Terraria makes grinding actually enjoyable, or at least for me. It's really hard not to love the crap out of this game every time I think about it and start it up.

Overall there is so much I could say about this game in terms of its vast amounts of content--including weapons, furniture, biomes, monsters, armor, blocks, etc., but I'd rather just tell you to go buy this game and play it yourself if you haven't already. I haven't written a review for years because I'm lazy, but this game has prompted me to write one.
