Holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ THEIR UPDATES ARE CAUSING MORE AND MORE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PROBLEMS, DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS GAME TO BE AN UNPAID BETA TESTER. CAN'T EVEN GET PAST THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ COMPILING SHADERS SCREEN UNTIL I CLEAR ALL TEMPORARY FILES AND THEN TRY LAUNCHING AGAIN, AND THEN IT EVENTUALLY CRASHES VERY QUICKLY. ♥♥♥♥ THIS GAME.

I absolutely LOVED Snowrunner, had amazing graphics and simple controls. Granted this is NOT Snowrunner, I understand this is a different game. That being said, there was absolutely NO need to COMPLETELY change the controller controls, every time I try to quickly use the parking brake or switch quickly to reverse... I open a "devices" menu. WHY THE ACTUAL ♥♥♥♥ IS THIS COMPLETELY CHANGED FROM SNOWRUNNER? I HAVE TIPPED OVER THE TRUCK SO MANY TIMES NOW IN THE TUTORIAL WITH ZERO FREE RECOVERIES (had to literally delete the save and make a new save) BECAUSE I'M UNABLE TO DO AN EMERGENCY WINCH TO SAVE THE TRUCK, this is ridiculous. Oh also, every single time you hit a checkpoint.... not only it is not clear WHICH LOCATION WITH THE DRONE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO REACH, it doesn't tell you that you actually had to bring the drone back to the truck... AFTER YOU DROVE THE TRUCK TO THAT LOCATION THINKING THAT WAS THE NEXT CHECKPOINT, WRONG, THE DRONE WAS SUPPOSED TO GO THERE AND THEN YOU HAVE TO BRING THE *TRUCK* BACK TO THE LOCATION TO COMPLETE THE CHECKPOINT. Holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell. And it seems they haven't fixed the mouse + controller bug, where if you have a wireless mouse plugged in (might even be with wired mice, but I didn't have the problem on my G403 wired, only the G403 Wireless plugged in), when you are actively using the controller, the cursor will CONSTANTLY act like your controller is spazzing out and going all over the place. Snowrunner has been out for almost 4 years now, and this bug STILL exists. I literally have to unplug my mouse's cable from the mouse for the controller to work properly. PLEASE FIX THIS. Also, why can't I switch from R to L and vice versa while keeping the diff lock on? It does pass over A yes, however this was not an issue in Snowrunner where if you held down the gear selector and moved from R to L and vice versa, the diff locks would stay on, as soon as it hits A in this game, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LET GO OF THE GEAR SELECTOR, it takes off the diff lock. And then because this game COMPLETELY UNNECESSARILY CHANGED THE CONTROL LAYOUT, I'm still figuring out after I shift into reverse... how to turn the diff locks on again. This was completely unnecessary. There is also glare from the headlights, it looks super unrealistic, I have motion blur turned off and the vehicle is still.... why is there a blur on the truck lights?

Okay now for some positives, this game FINALLY has an adjustable tire pressure system! T The introduction of drones in this game is pretty cool too, though it feels very sluggish when changing directions, so that's something the developers could maybe fix, but it's a great addition. That's all I can think of at the moment, will update later as I progress through the game. But as of right now, this was not worth the close to 60$ I spent on getting the supreme edition steam key. I can't say the same for Snowrunner however, that game is worth the full price. Look, I get it, the developers wanted to do something new. This is not it. In my opinion, it would have been better if y'all kept the same controller controls, kept the gearbox controls the same, sure the new gearbox INTERFACE is fine, but the gearbox CONTROLS are not,if y'all at least kept the CONTROLS similar, I wouldn't have a problem and I actually would recommend this game. BECAUSE OF THAT, I don't think it's worth the price.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ THIS GAME IS INITIALLY BASED IN AUSTIN TEXAS, I LIVE HERE!!! Man this game is amazing, even without visible directions on where to go, this game is designed in such a way that the objects around you will guide you towards where you need to go, and I wish more games nowadays were designed like this.

The one thing I really wish this game had was an open world, instead of just the story playthrough. I think it could utilize some more weapon skins too, (spoiler alert) and perhaps a way to bring back Sarah, she didn't deserve to die :(

Can't wait for pt2 to release on steam!!

This is one of the few games that I have bought, that I think is worth the full price. Sure it's not multiplayer, but the storyline is AMAZING!!! Fighting the zombies is fun, same with burning down nests and killing hordes, the only thing I wish more after finishing this game, was a Days Gone 2. They reportedly cancelled it, I think they should have made a sequel to it, especially after you see the special ending ;)

It's a beautiful game. I wish more people would play it. Sometimes I cry when I think about this game because it did not deserve to be left in the dust. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is very engaging, plus you get trading cards with this game (added value). The *only* con with this game is, if you had it on uPlay or Ubisoft Connect, the saves will NOT transfer over; I was heartbroken when I found that out the hard way. I got this game on steam a year later because I was transitioning everything over to Steam, so yeah.

Pros
  • Ultra graphics look very nice (but can be pretty demanding if your graphics card isn't powerful enough).
  • Graphics in general are many times better than in the previous game Mudrunner.
  • Very fun and engaging game, but without the need for a ridiculous amount of effort to progress.
  • You can have multiple saves, so one for normal mode, and another for hard, etc.
  • Mods are embraced rather than a bannable offense like in other multiplayer games.
  • Has Steam trading cards and achievements.

Cons
  • Mud is too slippery.
  • Some trucks are too easy to tip over.
  • Rewards are too little for certain tasks.
  • While trucks in real life can be expensive, due to the low reward amounts, it can take a long time before you can afford one.
  • H (High) gear is pretty much useless because clutch tapping eliminates the usefulness of it.
  • Sometimes there can be way too many "winchable" objects nearby so it can be a hassle to get the desired winch point. Also, there is a bug that, after a while, you will not be able to manually select where to winch, and that requires a game restart, and that needs to be fixed.
  • Game can be pretty demanding at ultra 1080p; I frame cap to 60 but when I unlock it on my overclocked 2080 Ti, it can only get to around 70-120 FPS depending on what's around me in game. If you have anything below a 2080 Ti or 3070, consider dropping the quality.
  • Too many DLCs.

What I would like to see
  • Adjustable tire pressure, as that would be an absolute GAME CHANGER.
  • More rim options including beadlock functionality.
  • Ability to tow more than 1 trailer in serial without needing the winch.
  • Significantly higher top speed, the game is way too slow at 30-50 MPH max when in gear (though if you are downhill on paved road, you can put it in neutral and let it go faster)
  • More suspension related options, such as portal axles and fully adjustable air suspension
  • Newer trucks such as the new F150, RAM TRX, and HD trucks.
  • A minimap or at least a compass, since IRL we now use GPS systems on our phones or even our cars. (Maybe an integrated phone could be in the next release?👀)
  • An option for manual saving instead of having to wait a few minutes for autosave.
  • The ability to drive people around the map as a job (like Uber).

Conclusion

Overall, I love this game. The realism in this game is very good. The game is not too slow or faced paced, it's perfect imo. This is one of the few games that I have bought, that I feel is worth the full price, and I really mean it. A lot of games nowadays have the same boring "changed a few things, made graphics a bit better" kind of evolutions, NAH THIS GAME BLEW ME AWAY AFTER MUDRUNNER!! Mudrunner imo was kind of mid (especially the graphics), but this game... it deserves a Steam award!

I used to love this game years ago. I loved watching all the streamers play this and all the funny moments they had. Unfortunately, the fun vibe is no longer there. First they removed open voice chat (to rest of lobby) until after the plane drop, and I feel like that was a wrong move. Then they started making competitive modes and honestly, I wish I could just go back to 2018 and relive this game, because the game was just so much more FUN back then. You can't even select maps anymore. Now, it's just somewhat boring like most "competitive FPS" games, or maybe I'm just getting old and tired of competitive games. Please bring back the old and fun PUBG.

Love the game, it makes you always want to explore the map (addicting, I know), love the car options, love the customization options, and it's open world. I also like to sometimes just drive around just chilling while following the speed limits lol

Game is pretty fun now that all the bugs are fixed, and if you just keep the graphics setting on auto, you will have a good time!

Played the game during the free weekend. The story was pretty fun, didn't get a chance to do multiplayer, but given the kind of game this is, it is nice to see that it doesn't require a lot of CPU or GPU power (relatively speaking).
