Good game, intense, high-stakes combat (I suck at vehicles) but absolutely tons of content, well supported by the developer (including recent free Tunisia campaign). When I miss playing classic WW2 era COD games, I jump in here instead.

A slow-paced, relaxing resource-route management. It does get very tricky sometimes, however. I got this game to re-experience the feeling of Settlers 2 and for that, this game delivers.

Simple, casual, addictive, calming game play. There is a global scoreboard, but I think worrying about that will detract from the game. Playing against my personal best is my favourite way to play.
Some additional game modes (no roll limit or fewest rolls to x score) would be appreciated but the game as is is still a great game with lots of variation.

Stars, lasers, spaceships, explosions, strategy by Paradox? What's not to like?

All three games together with a few improvements (especially needed for ME1).

It's a bit buggy and it clearly an older game.

I don't mind the reduced graphical options, I don't think they're a reason to dislike the game.

Nostalgia might not be required to enjoy this game but it definitely helps.
If you want a more modern Rome based total war, play Rome 2 (or Attila because that's better).
This is Rome Total War and it is great (if you played it when it came out).

Run around stabbing people. Pretty fun.
