Do I recommend this game? Yes.
Should you buy this game, even at full price? Yes.
Will you lose many hours digging into the ridiculous depth of this simplistic game? Also yes.

The most fun I've had with one hand in a long time.

POST 2022 EVO UPDATE:
Rollback announced. Best game again.

Original review below....

I used to love this game. It was fresh, had some flashy combos, some interesting mechanics, good team building stuff.

But now, with Season 3? And Lab Coat? All you have to do to win is:
Pick a character with full screen normals.
Learn one combo for each character on your team that can do 70-100%.
Full screen normal into special tag into death.

I used to love this game. Now it's a party game where you can just mash in the same combo over and over to win. It's demoralising and **Extremely** difficult to get better at the game without labbing the same combo string for hundreds of hours, until you could play a whole set with your eyes closed.

Go buy KOFXV.

Download 10gb worth of game, then launch the game, wait 10 minutes for an update, then get told I need to download another 8.7gb of assets??
Why on earth isn't this done with the steam install??

I was looking forward to having a go until I realised that I'd have to have the game open to download the game again. What a waste of time.

What? I have to press 2 buttons to do a 6 frame counter?
The game immediately drops you into a session before you can fiddle with any options or even turn the volume down?

Sorry, Uninstalled.

If your idea of ripping doors off of their hinges, to consume the delicious little morsels that lie inside as a pulsating amorphous blob of teeth and death, then this game is for you.

Fantastic atmosphere, Great sound track, Intuitive and responsive controls. Visually fantastic, while being quite brutal and gory.
Not for everyone, but definitely a stand out for those who like Violent Side Scrolling Pixel Art Platformers.

A little short. Game can be completed in under 6 hours, even if you take your time a bit. I look forward to more content if it's coming.

It's Free.

Diablo 3, But with WAY more end game content, and a much more "Do whatever you want" feel to the skills and classes.

Did I mention it's FREE?

Regular updates and balacing too.

Oh, and it's FREE.

Early Access Review
Hive Jump is a 2D Action Platformer, with Gorgeous pixel shading graphics, Tense Alien bug blasting action, with a pumping Soundtrack.

I backed it during the Kickstarter and never looked back.

Highly reccommended.

It's like Metroid and Contra had a Brutal Alien Baby.

Still in Early Access, But I cannot wait to see what tey do with the camnpaign.

Early Days server issues aside, This would have to be the most challenging and most satisfying Dragon Ball Z Fighting game to date.

PROS:
NO QTE's. PERIOD. NONE.
Solid Combat. Some of the moves and combos have little deadzones, but you don't need Street Fighter Reflexes to feel satisfied playing this.
Create a Character is VERY rewarding, Even if you need to stack either Ki and Supers or Melee attacks. It's very Dragon Ball Z in that regard.
Storyline and Voice acting is Great. For myself, Very engaging.
Parallel Quests. This is a very fun and interesting take on setting up extra fights and it's a great time sink.

CONS:

Only Race with a transformation is Saiyan.
Item/Skill drops are VERY random and can get VERY frustrating grinding for one skill. Same goes for special events in PQ's.
Whis and Beerus smashing you into submission to the point where you basically lose the will to live. Yup, that fight sucks.

This is an amazing addition to the DBZ franchise. A beautifully crafted fighting game, with very little actual game engine flaws.
A MUST for and DBZ Game fan, and a MUST for any fighting game fan.

Needs offline mode, However, The Devs regularly update on the forums and through other sources, so it is clear they are aware and working on the issue. 2 Thumbs Up.

UPDATE: Server has been nice and stable for a while now. Can't say much about matchmaking, but at least the lobbies no longer kick you after every match.
