This game focuses on putting arbitrary roadblocks in the way of the player to drag out 5-10 hours of content into a full game. It will force you through very easy but tedious "puzzles" and platforming. Your character will be locked into walk animations to do meaningless escort quests at a snails pace. The combat revolves around stunlocking your character(s) while trying to whittle down bullet/sword sponges. This remake is such a massive letdown.

There have been increasing issues with this game and Grinding Gear Games for years, and it's bubbling over with the most recent league/patch launch. These issues are covered by many other reviews, but for me, the biggest reason for my negative review is that GGG has become increasingly dismissive of player feedback. Now it's to the point that there's a great deal of hostility between the developers and the community. GGG has significantly damaged the trust that the community had in them and have been largely non-communicative for the last month. The few communications they have released have been meaningless PR double-speak and unwillingness to admit that the current state of the game is rapidly declining. GGG certainly doesn't have any obligation to act on all player feedback, but they have moved to the extreme opposite end where they ignore it entirely.

I've never been so grateful that a 60 kg rooster can't block.
