Great amount of replay ability, even without DLC. Great workshop creators to improve gameplay too.

Very fun game, not so great running!

The game is enjoyable in many aspects. Although I do have a few problems.

The bad:

My first being, as there's no loading screens, there doesn't seem to be any auto-saving. Due to me being used to auto-saves, when my game crashed when I finally discovered the save button and tried to click it, I lost my four hours of progress. This leads on to the performance issues. I have been using a laptop which doesn't have the BEST specs, but does rise above the minimum specs. Despite this, I am often running around 15-20FPS. I was still able to enjoy the game at this rate, albeit much slower.

Secondly, there are some problems with side missions. The only one I got to be before my game crashed involved calling a number, having one minute to run across town to another place to answer a phone, grabbing a briefcase for information on my suspect to throw food in the face of and....oh....I know they're tall and that they're skinny....now you see my problem. I was expected to search through the whole city to find someone skinny and tall which, surprisingly, was more than one person. So, many side missions seem like they may become impossible to complete.

The good:

Its a fun concept. I love detective-like games and this is perfect for that "I'm a run down detective just trying to pay the rent and I don't follow the rules" type. It's a great idea and the procedural generation is fun. It feels a bit like a mix of a first-person Beholder and La Noire. You collect your clues, line up your evidence, and put it all together.

I see people complaining about bugs involving clipping through objects but I haven't experienced any of this. I have of course faced a lot of frame-rate lag but no game breaking bugs as of yet.

There's a lot this game could grow with in the future. Whether it's new upgrades for your person, new items, new cases, map changes. There's a lot that could come from this game as it goes on and I'm excited to see what comes from it.

TLDR: In it's current form some aspects can seem unplayable. But it's an exciting project to watch in the future.

It's okay.

Fun concept from the works of Hearth Devs. However, on Steam it's currently not really worth it. It is literally just a mobile port, where half of the screen can sometimes be non-visible due to no easy way to change resolution and the fact it's tailored to a mobile screen. Albeit, still pretty fun but, as other comments have mentioned, until you reach rank 30 you're only playing against bots (which isn't stated). There are also some cards that you cannot get, at least not until later into upgrading cards, through the season pass (Despite people saying there's no monetisation). Although, the monetisation side doesn't really help any opponents so not too much of a downside to that.

Also, do NOT sign in through google until AFTER you've finished the tutorial, otherwise your steam account, and google account will be separate accounts (meaning you can not play on the same account on your mobile, as the one on steam).

For now a negative, but if they make it an actual steam port, and not a shabby mobile port, then it'll get a positive.

Wonderful. It's only really a one playthrough game, unless you're going for achievements. But its a beautiful game with a great soundtrack.

-DISCLAIMER- This is a long review so don't bother reading unless you want a lot of information about this game.

Tired of dying and respawning and dying? Tired of those trolls online? Hackers? Come play Meadow, it's sure to calm you down.

Meadow is one of those games that you can play for hours without screaming at the screen.
From the creators of the Shelter franchise comes Meadow, a game that...isn't really a game.
As they put it, it is a forum in disguise and that's exactly what they've made it into. Just look at the pictures and video to get an understanding because they give you what they show you, unlike many things on the market.

As a side note that i'll explain later, extra animals can be unlocked via owning other games which I do own.

You start off being given a badger to play as, an adorable creature. You roam around a land trying to find flowers and food which you run over and will be given "essance". Collecting this essance works like experience, the more you collect the more you unlock. Over time as youre essence rises you'll be given puzzle pieces, which can also be found in the wild, which slowly unlocks emotes, skins and other animals. After you collect enough puzzle pieces you'll be able to play as a frog, and then a rabbit, and so on.

When I started I had no idea what I was doing, I was running around when I found a fox who spoke in emoji's that I somehow understood and followed him around leveling up together. This is how the game works. It seems confusing at first but suddenly you are able to understand this "language" and this "game" and it can be quite enjoyable. My 4 hours have been completed in 2 sessions because I am able to play for a couple of hours at a time without becomming bored. You can make massive groups in the 50 person servers, I made a 36 person group in one which we all roamed the world following an eagle. The world you are placed in is absoloutely beautiful. To the wet swamps, the massive crystal caves, to the hidden waterfalls, to the vast wastelands, the world is beautiful.
The music adds upon this to give such a calming time.

I have seen people in the "negative reviews" comment on the fact that you have to buy the other games to unlock animals. This is not the case at all. There are 4 animals that you can be if you own the seperate games. These are not a "YOU MUST BUY OUR GAMES" these are "Here are some rewards if you do own our games :)". Simply, there are 4 animals from games and 8 from not owning these games. These 4 do not add anything THAT special. There's an adult badger, a larger version of the first animal you play as and slightly faster. There is an adult lynx, quite fast but that's it, if i'm correct you can still unlock the baby lynx. There's a baby bear, honestly one of the cutest things i've seen but nothing that makes it a massive advantage. Finally, there is an eagle. This eagle is there to view the beautiful world. As the eagle you cannot pick up items so you cannot level up faster as the eagle, you can still unlock the white eagle by being in the top 100 of essance collectors but you dont need the eagle for the full experience. Actually, you don't need to own any of these 4 animals for the full experience because I've hardly played as the 3 of these that I do have because I enjoy the ones you're given for free much more.

Overall, if you're in a bad mood or just want to feel good, play Meadow. It's cheap, but offers so much for this price tag. A beautiful world, great music, amazing people and community, and such cute creatures. "When you remove the ability to hate, the world becomes a remarkably different place." -Bayrock and honestly that is so true. You cannot hate in this game, you cannot troll. This is a game that I suggest playing late at night, when the day is over.

Buy this game. Load it up. Spawn in. Find a pack/Make a pack. Run around. Level up together. Explore. Be amazed. Click the crying and waving emoji. Say your goodbyes to your friends. Disconnect.

Throughout this game I have made many friends and lost them already. It's surprising how many friends you can make without speaking a word.

There isn't much else to say about this game other than BUY IT. IT'S SO CHEAP AND SO CALMING.

This is honestly one of the best and most hilarious games I have played.
My PC isn't one of the best and is honestly quite bad making games with this immense detail but I didn't care. The game looked amazing and was great to play even on lowest quality and I loved the 2 hours I played. I strongly recommend this if you're looking for a linear, hilarious, crazy and confusing puzzle game.
Loved it, 9/10

First Thoughts:

This game is amazing. It's got a great story line and great secrets hidden around. It's fun to follow the story and fun to play. The community really brings this game alive thanks to the workshop, after you finish wiping the tears out your eyes.

Overall:

(-/10)

  • Story - 7
  • Visual - 9
  • Frames To Quality - 9
  • Jumpscares and...normal scares - 8
  • Gameplay mechanics - 7

Reasons for the loss of numbers is:

Story - Ending seemed a bit annoying. You work through everything, the monsters, the jumpscares, the twists and turns just to be left to die. You're literally told the ending from about 1/4 of the way through and then left to just wait for it, although the leading up to it was good.

Jumpscares - Just seemed to repeat itself after a while.

Gameplay mechanics - Seemed to repeat itself after a while. *Go here and check this. It's locked, so look around and find this. Go back and do this, you missed something go and find it.* -next area- *Go to this door. Door locked, look around and find this....*

Overall:

9/10

'SPORE' is a game where you start off crash landed from a meteor into a planet and you're trying to grow from your tiny bacteria to a large galactic nation. You play through multiple stages and choose how your civilization progresses.

Pros:

-You can play this through more then once and will get a different outcome
-You get to customize nearly EVERYTHING to your liking
-Can keep you occupied for hours
-Runs well

Cons:

-Some evoloution stages are extremly short
-Galactic stage is the longest by far and I wished the others were made longer
-No autosave so if the game DOES crash you're doomed
