Started mining "tin" on a small island I found.

It wasn't tin, but barnacles, ok whatever right? Probably need them.

Island starts moving, figured I'm being attacked by some sea creature. Nope the "island" is moving and I definitely just smashed parts of it's body off with pickaxe. Island dives to bottom of sea, I barely make it back to my boat.

Genuinely terrifying experience when you're running on very little sleep because this game is consuming your life atm.

100/100 would definitely pop barnacle zits again on sea creatures back.

Do you like RTS games? Yes? This might be for you.

Do you like "Souls" games (Dark Souls etc)? Yeah? This might be for you.

Do you like games where you can't save manually and death results in having to start a map again?

If the answer to the last question is yes or you don't mind that then by all means give this a shot. It's well worth the full asking price and even better on sale BUT be prepared for odd design decisions which will make you want to tear your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hair out if you mess up.

Save your money. There's very few people who actually play this online and the ones who do are the same two or three who are at the top of the ranked leaderboard and you'll likely get beat. I can't imagine how long these few players must sit waiting for a ranked match because they are literally the only 3 players I've encountered online.

To put this into perspective you start out at a very low rank, so I expected to play against people my own rank (ya know new players?). Nope, I get these guys, top rank you can acheive, top of the leaderboard. Difficult to get excited or want to continue playing when its the same players who have obviously gotten very good at this and playing them feels like trying to beat a professional [INSERT CHOSEN SPORT] player when you're a regular person who casually plays sports.

The singleplayer isn't anything to shout home about either so unless you have a friend to play this with don't bother but then again I'm sure the other worms games are just as good if you already have them. Or you know if you're a sadist and want to make friends with the French guy, Russian guy and Spanish guy (I think?) then go for it...but yeah you can't chat during a game either..so just enjoy getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trounced by a team of worms screaming "OMELETTE DU FROMAGE".
