3.26 is an insanely fun and memorable league, especially after I came back to POE1 from the rough start of POE2's 0.1 and 0.2 launch. This league also marked my first time getting a mirror, thus pushing me to finish all end game contents and challenges in softcore for the first time ever.

Though after so many leagues, I find re-doing all 10 acts so annoying. I wish there is an option to skip the campaign on the 2nd or 3rd character and so on in the same league, or at least drop me straight into act 6. Crazy how many dedicated players still stay sane after re-running through the campaign a bazillion time.

An excellent game in overall, even though there are things that I still find inconvenient (yee yee ass trading system, bad visual clarity on some effects, random deaths that forever remain a mystery without a death recap, lack of regional pricing for MTX).

At times like this that I wish there is a Mixed rating other than just "Recommended / Not Recommended." There are things that make POE 2 a great game worth of recommendation: great graphic, great environment designs, better and smoothly executed animations. But there are also problems that are hard to ignore, especially after playing POE 1.

First is the crashes and hardware reset on the latest windows update. Though because the update also bricked my modded Skyrim, I had to roll back to the previous windows version anyway to fix both games. A recent game patch in POE 2 has been issued to address this problem, but now I'm having crashes when I go to my 2nd monitor during the loading screen.

Second is the gameplay. POE 2 definitely has a slower combat than POE 1, and I appreciate that the devs are trying the methodical approach. But good lord does it feel clunky to play after getting used to the zooming blast that is POE 1.

To be fair, the gameplay actually felt fine at the start (unless you start as a Mercenary with the janky crossbow, which I did, unfortunately). The lack of movement skills and utility flasks doesn't take long to get used to, until at a certain point of the game that you start questioning why they were removed in the first place. The maps in POE 2 are big, so run through them without any travel skill takes like forever, especially when you can't ignore the enemies on the way because they can outrun and box you in a corner. and you CAN'T dodge roll through enemies either. Actually I don't even know the point of a dodge roll in this game other than animation cancelling if it doesn't give you iframes nor let you roll through obstacles. I thought I almost got the ideal playstyle with Monk's Killing Palm until I discovered that I couldn't phase through the hoard of enemies for a single slap. idk man maybe i have skill issues but pls give me back my frostblink or flame dash. I'd also gladly take the quicksilver flask back over this boring charm system.

Experimenting with different builds is restrictive, because refunding passives in your skill tree takes a lot of gold, which isn't easy to get fast on your first ever character at the start of campaign. You can't change your ascendancy class either. And oh god this just reminds me of the ascendancy trials and just... why? Sanctum and Ultimatum were already niche enough in POE 1, idek why the devs have to lock your most powerful progression upgrade behind them in POE 2. They are boring, tedious, way too harsh with the debuffs and relied on rng to get through. It's less a trial of skill and more of luck. The Trial of Sekhemas especially feels really disruptive to the flow of the campaign. And why can't I directly move to my hideout using the Trials' waypoints?

The game and graphics look really great, but man the visual clarity needs an update. All these bombastic AOEs that blend in with the ground, slams that don't have visual indicator of their range, monsters with proximal tangibility that don't even have any visual effect unless I go read their name in the middle of combat with a bazillion skill effects. It gets worse when all those things happened in the Willow map, which is the most terrible map layout to ever exist. I wouldn't even mind getting insta killed if there was a death screen that showed me what caused my death. But there wasn't.

Endgame mapping is a mixed bag to me. I like the new Atlas view, but removing your other 5 tries to run a map after being killed is unfun. I can't learn boss' mechanics when I got booted out of the map forever after 1 death. The devs could have reduced the run attempts from 6 to 3 or 2, instead of making it a mini hardcore mode. Furthermore, I can't see or interact with the host's atlas or even open my own map while in a party, making endgame the most anti Co-op mode I've ever seen.

TLDR; it's a good game for first timer. But I've had 500+ hrs into POE 1 and after 100hrs here I found some of the decisions in this game baffling and backwards to what has been solved in the previous game. It's still in Early Access stage, which makes me think if some of the decisions done at the moment are to drag the current gameplay longer and won't stay permanently when the game will be fully released. Again, I wish Steam have a Mixed rating than just a simple YES/NO review. But right now, I found all the cons are outweighting the pros for a $30 early access game that will be free in the future.

To anyone beating the game on hard mode, you are GOATED.

I love everything about this game as much as I love Helltaker: the concept, the art style, the gameplay. It was surprisingly so intense that at one point my head just went empty and hands on auto mode. Hopefully I can beat the hard difficulty soonTM.

Still a crazy good open world game after more than a decade despite some jankiness. And the mods definitely made it more the better.


I know the Legendary Edition is unlisted. But if you somehow still manage to grab it and and want to mod, be prepared for hours of tinkering and headaches. List of the technical problems that I've faced while modding:

+ There is an unlisted DLC on Steam store for HD textures patch -> I needed it for another bug fix mod to work.

+ No borderless/windowed fullscreen mode -> Had to changed the .ini file setting. And yet it's still a bit janky when Alt-Tabbing to something else.

+ Running game over 60fps and high refresh rate will cause weird water splashing sound when walking or running -> Had to adjust the fps limit of my monitor.

+ Skyrim HD - 2k Textures mod will cause crash at the start of the game or infinite loading screen (happened to me at Whiterun gate). This is due to something related to original Skyrim being only x32 bit and runs on low VRAM (iirc) -> Needed to change it with ENB. Very time consuming just to look up the solution.

+ Can't turn off strong head bob / screen shake when sprinting in both perspectives, causing motion sickness -> I found a mod for it and it only worked for 1 session. I haven't tried to fix it.

+ This is more on the mod itself but Skyrim Unbound (Alternate Start) mod may lock you out of the main questline if you don't choose to be the Dragonborn at the start.


Just some notable problems that I still remember. Tbf I used the Skyrim Ultimate Immersion collection (100+ mods) on Nexus so a lot of time was spent checking what worked and what not. My game still occasionally crashed after every ~3hrs of gameplay but it was nothing serious and I'm too lazy to check crash log.


Honestly if I could I would have just bought the Special Edition to make my life easier.

Edit: Just finished everything again in NG+

The level design, the verticality of the map, the little details hidden in the environment and items... everything in this game is insane. I just wish some of the questlines weren't too obscure and inconvenient (traveling back and forth between Milicent and Gowry... all the long ass mission tasks yet everyone and their mother ended up dead anyway).

Still a fresh air compared to the grim atmosphere of other FromSoft's games.

Absolutely love it. 9/10.

Just finished escaping from the forest and it's been a fun experience. Really enjoy all the little things you could do at the old couple's farm.

Split screen might make it hard for some people to follow all dialogues but they aren't crucial so it works out well.

8/10. Really recommend it to have good laughs with friends or whoever you want to escape with.
