CT Matthews put in a Hot Dog Stand color scheme in 10/10

I did like the de-emphasis on killing everything in sight for resources aside from the little fishies for food. I thought that was a refreshing change from the usual beat-up the local wildlife for fun and profit that's in other survival games.

The reaper leviathans were spooky af and I think the fact that they use echolocation so if you hear them they can see you was a nice touch

I think the only bit I had trouble with was something about the floors in the alien facilities would get the prawn suit stuck and if I hadn't had the grapple arm I would've had to make a fourth suit (lost the first one over the crater edge, second one died to a reaper ;_;)7 ).

Pros
-its pretty easy to pick up but has a lot of options to explore
-you can attack people with chairs and cacti
-dang ol' rollback netcode, man
-plenty of QoL options
-all the hitbox you could ever want

-palette editor is limited so no banana Shiki ;_;)7

Once again pushing buttons as an anime and getting my ♥♥♥♥ pushed in by a maid with a broom 10/10

To be honest I was a little worried after playing the demo during the Steam Festival but I think that was a build of the game they had to put out in short notice. It's much, much improved since then.

For some reason everything kind of looks foggy in the distance on the first level but that might be fixed with some setting tinkering. Personally I think the controls are pretty good and any awkwardness is endemic to these types of games.

Also the soundtrack is pretty good :^)

I haven't finished vol. 1 yet but I've enjoyed what I've played so far aside from losing progress after being blindsided by one of the Black List (yeah that means you Greedy Cervantes) and I had forgotten to save. I like that this game seems less Guide Damn It-y than, say, the Trails series, so I can relax more while playing it and not worry about missing like a book in an area I had no business being in and no indication to even check there. I can see the dungeons becoming repetitive but they're all pretty short so its not bad.

I did find out that you can kinda stunlock the blacklisters like Cervantes if you keep knocking them down with the heavy charge attack.

100% pure video game with a delightful amount of B-moviesque voicelines and aesthetic

A lot of QoL improvements have been made since EDF 4.1. The game seems to handle the irresponsible amount of explosions quite well so far without any performance drops that I've noticed. Some of the vehicle physics can be a bit...suspect (yeah, I'm talking to you Free Bike) but its almost a part of the charm.

Whoever voices that one sergeant in the orange and purple absolutely needs to be given more voicework if they haven't already. Just about every one of his voicelines puts a stupid grin on my face and I love it. He is The Best Character™️.

tl;dr you can fight giant bugs and aliens as Man with Shotgun and it's great
