Got that bored of it, it was the first time I refunded a game ever and I have tons of horrible games.

I was forced to play this game years ago by my Uni (and everyone else). We had to reach level 10 or play at least 1 hr or something like that.
Biggest waste of time when learning/trying to make an Indie studio just because of some agreement the studio or uni made I guess.

I skipped all the dialog just so I could stop playing it and start working on a game that I was a part of. Overall the game is ok to kill time, but a bit meh for myself.

If your a fan of previous Sniper Elite's you'll probably like this one too. While there isn't a huge list of levels (9 or 10 if you have the DLC) the levels/maps are quite huge with loads of collectables and optional objectives. If your going in silent you'll get at least an hour or so in each level (minus the last level lol).

It's not 100% perfect, there are a few glitches/bugs and such but in the 19 hours I've played so far I've only really ran into 2 bugs that I had to re-load from a save (so either its not too bad, or I'm lucky compared to others). The graphics are nice, it runs great on my system and the X-ray system has been upgraded/improved like they always do in each game (imo).

Some new features are being able to customise your character for both SP and Axis mode, as well a load of options to upgrade and unlock weapons. What is Axis Invasion? It's basically an online mode where you join a random person whos playing the campaign and your mission is to basically kill them and you win (otherwise you get taken out and you lose). If the player is taken out by the other enemies you also win (I am terrible at the mode, but its quite fun). You also get to request a rematch.

I've not attempted the other modes yet but basically finished the game (while taking my time, and not playing it every day) but its quite short to a degree, but as I said I took my time and like to go for the silent approach so I got hours out of the levels myself.

61 Achievements to get but no steam cards for those who collect them.

Edit: They have added steam cards now.

I think if this Assassins Creed isn't your first game to try...you won't enjoy it.
I myself started at #2 and loved it, I have gotten this on GoG some years ago...played it for a bit..didn't get far..
I saw this on sale, it was $4.48AUD couldn't complain...and while im not complaining about it I just simply cannot get into it.

I've made it a little further then my first attempt, I just got bored of the game very quick...and it has happened again.
The character i don't like or dislike hes just a character for me but I've not played much of it to be fair. I think starting off with how good your skills are and then to be reset kinda sucks, because your trying to do stuff you can't do until you've learnt it while it's not something to complain about I just personally feel like everything drags out longer than it has to. Maybe it would of been better if there was a little bit of backstory instead of just this "I'm the best assassin oh no i dun goof'd and now i must pay and make my way back up" though you only dun goof because of another guy. I guess this game was just testing waters in a way and they made improvements after this game such as character building and such.

Controls are a little bit weird on keyboard and mouse, not the worst though. I was surprised to see a 2007 title offer resolutions to my PC specs, 2560x1440 @ 165Hz one setting is disabled (for whatever reason, perhaps the high res) but found out I can force it on via the ini file.

So while I don't like the game that much, I don't hate it I just can't get sucked into its story as interesting as parts of it may be, the getting there to get to the interesting parts isn't enough to make me want to keep going. I might keep going at it after this review but yeah. I think also if you played this when it was "new" you'd hold onto fond memories of it, at the time this came out I was still running a single core cpu and going wow this game needs dual core! Now look where we are these days...crazy

Lasted played July 11 2020 (beta version)

So I got to try this game a while back. The game is pretty cool lots of potential but for myself I didn't get sucked into game or world. I thought I'd write a review of it now.

My first thoughts were its a little mash of with hints of Crysis/Portal. You can mod your guns, decent collection of guns. There are portals that teleport you to spots and it also has some pretty cool and clever puzzles, its not just a run and gun game and you don't get much of a breather to stop.

The story is pretty interesting, ending was pretty cool and trippy (but also a little predictable) there is a good amount of levels to go through. The art style is cool, voice acting is ok.

But as I said before, myself I didn't get sucked into it, I found it a little generic at times and I just felt meh about the whole game myself. Enemies just spawn out of no where, they don't stop coming and I got bored of the game itself pretty quick. But I forced myself to go all the way to the end, I ended up putting cheats on just so I could be bothered to do so as I'd die here and there and I haven't yet wanted to go back and try finish it without cheats. When I was done, I was glad and didn't feel bad for cheating.

The game needs some optimization, I can't get it above or even running at 60fps most of the time and I am running high end specs ((i9-9900K + 2080Ti + 32GB ram) so perhaps when the 3000 series cards drop and newer cpu's you might be able to run it at max settings? My PC shouldn't be struggling to get 60fps or above. The worlds are big and open like Crysis which is nice, I liked it. The graphics are nice but not so nice it makes my PC cry. *edit, I may of had some things on like AF and AA but its been so long since I last played it, this would help performance if turned off*.

I am not sure what its missing, or what would fix it, perhaps my review isn't really that fair. I would want other people to try it because it might be just meh to me but someone's GOTY. But there is room for improvement and the few things this game has it does pretty well. It has great potential.

To buy, I wouldn't recommend it at the version I played (it was a good amount of months ago, so perhaps changes have happened, this is just a late review) but if you get the chance to try it for free or cheap, I'd say give it a go!

Learn to make a game or put it into early access. No tutorial and goes on as if you know what your doing.
No explaining of the controls, you have to quit the game to go into the options to see what they are.
First thing it asks is check your car, how? Who knows? Does it matter? No just drive and it gives you new instructions...

So it says to scan a car, explains it well enough (for once) so turns out this car is breaking some law or some crap after scanning the car. try to turn on my lights and such..nothing happens, car keeps driving...get the siren going..still nothing so i drive past and in front of the car...car stops..i get out of the car...now what? I couldn't click on the car some of it isn't in English so Ive got 0 clue what is happening.

Happy for people to write in the comments to tell me on how to play and I'll give it another go but from the description of this game, they ain't talking about this game. I'm sure its okish once you know what is going on. I'd figure it out but its to the point I may as well build my own ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game and get pissed off with myself, it's not fun if you can't play the game and the game won't tell you a whole lot.

Good points - The cars have a heavyness to them and at first a little odd you do get the hang of it after a little bit. Graphics are alright, not great but not terrible. Steam cards and achievements

Great game, maps are pretty big, multiple ways to do missions (stealth or assault) plenty of achievements to get as well as steam cards to get and badges to craft.

The DLC's are pretty good, one of them you get to kill Hitler (again) while there is 3 DLC campaign that are pretty lengthy and fun.

The bullet cam is great, the gore and body systems have been knocked up a notch (best to date)
Once you beat a level, you can redo them as a different character (female characters still talk like the main character lol).

Worth it if you have enjoyed any of the previous sniper elite games.

It's basically if they remastered Deus Ex but with a few changes to the original game such as the maps have been altered in some type of way (more buildings added, and look and feel).

You can set it to look and play like the original, such as textures and music but as i stated before the maps have been changed in one way or another and it's not a bad thing it works pretty well. I did have the HQ textures enabled but not everyone has them just the main characters (minus bob page which I thought they would of done, there is maybe more) so I turned it all off basically.

There is a new soundtrack should you want to use that, but also has the OST as well as many different colour options.

Achievements have been added, there is 255 in total while I think some are a little overkill it gives you something to do and explore the mod and game fully.

Different game modes have been added,

The secret "4th ending" still exists within the game

TLDR: Good to get due to being free + adds higher res and textures with heaps of extras from the original while also having the option to play the original version of the game (minus some map differences from the original).

Early Access Review
I didn't look at the release date until I saw it when coming to write a review. Its Pre-Alpha stage and its been 4 years atm and I thought it was fairly new when I was inside the game. The Tutorial was broken and online flat out stuffs up and i couldn't complete it.

I can understand being an indie studio with 0 funding (been there) but $36 AUD for a game that seems to have a few months/1 year max of progress is a laugh. By the time this is finished, someone could of made the exact same game and be better or less time to take to make. I will wait another 2-5 years until I play this.

I bought it to play with my cousin who has had the game for a while and kept me up to date. You need a scope when building a game, don't keep adding more stuff when there is bugs and things needing to be fixed to be a semi stable game...then you add more, it seems like the company is just winging and hoping for the best. But if you keep adding things without fixing the other issues you will have a bad time.

The game looks alright, its pre-alpha its not meant to look its best, same with performance so I won't complain about those.
Sound and such seems pretty good. Awesome idea and concept and such, but I think parts you've added more than you can chew but hopefully it works out in the end.

I'd say buy at your own risk, even if its on sale. I will wait it out for a while.....
