Very relaxing planet terraforming sim. Difficulty definitely ramps up and there are a few randomized scenarios I'm still unsure how to actually beat. All that said, it was definitely worth the $ i paid for it when i got it on sale.

I've never really liked single player RPG's. I always get bored, and lose interest. But I've been listening to the Glass Cannon Podcast and it got me really wanting to play D&D. This seemed like a good way to check it out and I'm so hooked. Just beat honor mode and now going back to try and get 100% achievements. Every play through has been different, and the next patch (7) is adding new endings for evil play throughs

Well worth the money, even in its early access state.

TL:DR - PoE is no longer an ARPG, but instead a poorly disguised slot machine, with an outrageously priced MTX store.

After playing this game for multiple years (although largely on the stand alone client as the steam client patcher sucks), I'm finally done. Every league has led to further and further content bloat, that is poorly explained, often mandatory, and in no way balanced around an even remotely healthy number of hours. Each patch removes anything that smells like deterministic progress, in favor of RNG. RNG which is based on a character seed, that has more than once resulted in an experience so abysmal it's required GGG to publicly confess and patch it. Game progression balance is so broken and skewed at this point that its VERY easy to play for 4+ hours, log out and be no further along than when you started.

The latest league launch was the worst in the history of the game, and in an attempt to save face, they prioritized streamer's logins so people wouldn't notice how bad it was going on twitch, leaving the normal player sitting in 100k+ queues taking hours to progress through, only to be booted within 5 min, back to queue due to server instability.

Overall its a fun game. The balance of maintenance costs that grow as you expand makes it a bit more of a management headache than I'd prefer, but its not enough to deter me from playing. Certain clans are definitely better than others, and I've found Domination wins to be very difficult to come by. I bought it when it was 50% off and for that price i think its a perfect value.
