Gather around children. Let me tell you the story of your grandfather, The Great Avneet. He was one of the best kings we High Elves have ever known. He did what so many before him struggled to do, unite all our lands.

It was a troubling time. All High Elf Lords thought only of themselves. Then a threat emerged. One they knew nothing about. A horde of raiding pirates attacked the lands. Pillaging settlement after settlement. Your grandfather was the first to defeat one of these armies. Most Lords believed these pirates were the threat. Avneet knew better. He interrogated the pirates, only to find they were allies of a much stronger army. The prisoned General described his ally as a Dark Elf King, with strength levels in the top 5 of all diplomatic Lords. Avneet knew instantly this was his long, lost brother Paras.

Paras was a ruthless man. In battle, he would charge straight to the front of the line. He had a magical spell that allowed him to open his arms and spin nonstop as he cut down enemies with his duel swords. Some say he spun so fast, with his arms flailing, that he was seen to levitate.

Avneet knew his brother well. Paras’s hatred for Avneet would lead him to attack every Lizard army around him. Looting all gold and silver, to ever increase his army. In preparation to attack your grandfather. Avneet’s only option was to unite the lands in preparation for this future battle.

And so Avneet did just that. A new age was among the High Elves. Prosperity for all settlements. All corruption cleared. Until one day, a ship was seen in the distance. The flag flying a large P. Avneet knew what this meant. He gathered his men and prepared for battle.

When the mysterious ship docked, Avneet was not surprised to see Paras had no army among him. Not one loyal soldier. Paras’s anger had led to the demise of his allies. So Avneet did the honorable thing. He mounted his steed, and challenged Paras in single man to man combat. The battle was swiftly ended. Paras had just cast a spell at Avneet. Avneet charge Paras, sending him flying to the exact spot where Paras aimed his spell. Your grandfather’s brother unknowingly killed himself.

Because of this battle, all this land before you is yours. Know the sacrifices that were made. This peace won’t last, as Paras too had heirs. And those long lost cousins will be back to avenge their grandfather.

This scratched my Borderlands itch, but it was nowhere near as good as Borderlands 2.

It's Nov. 24, 2016. I've been playing since its release, and I just barely beat the game. Recommended.
