I wish the game had a meh rating. It's not bad, it's really not, it's just not my cup of tea.

If you're a PVP lover, enjoy ganking / getting ganked, then this game is absolutely for you! However, I enjoyed the PvE aspect of the game for a while, bought Legendary status to try other classes (you only get 1 character slot F2P), and immediately ran into my first player-spawn hopping, naked, PVP gank-ranger.

I got a good amount of playtime (~50 hours) out of the game, so I won't be refunding. These devs are great and they deserve their money for so many reasons. This review is purely a cautionary tale aimed towards people who don't enjoy getting ganked repeatedly while trying to complete PVE quests. Yes, I understand now that this game is HEAVILY PVP oriented. I just got access to my first "Murder 7000 other players in the Ice Caves!" quest today.

I burned out on EVE Online 10 years ago, and this game is headed in exactly the same direction, so it's just not for me. To everyone who enjoys the game, have fun! As for me, I think I'm done unless they offer a purely co-op map.

So bloody much fun. It's a little tougher/more interactive than games in its genre, but I love moving from the struggle to total OP when you get a good build going.

An amazing game if you want an open-world, sandbox, RPG-style adventure in the form of a CCG.

The game is niche, but it's a hidden diamond. Absolutely recommend it if you want to burn a couple hundred hours theory crafting and trying different approaches to the game.

Good game to mindlessly grind away your free time on.

I made a spell called Implosion. I took the fireball animation that was in-game, and using the in-game animation stuff, I turned Fireball black-and-purple, replaced flame-and-trails animations with dark particles, shadows, etc.., changed the per-tile explosion animations to black balls of dark particles instead of a flat orange-red explosion, changed casting animations, etc...

Instead of a one-time damage effect, I added pull effects, damage over time effects, and set the range to a custom value. I customized the ability card, gave it custom border colors, a graphic from the in-game graphic set (I can't draw worth a crap), and assigned it to a custom spellcasting character/class I had created.

IF I could draw, I could have added custom art for the character, equipment, and spells/abilities. If I took more time, I could have recorded voiceovers for the character and new sounds for the spells.

If I had done all of this, and then decided to upload the character to the workshop, all the custom things I made would be built into a dependency package for the character and uploaded with the character. Anyone who chose to download my custom character would get all of the things I made and be able to use them for their own characters.

You can customize everything about the game. The success or failure of this game will rely almost 100% upon community-generated content, and I hope we see small teams of artists/voice actors/writers/level designers forming up to make new content and assets for everyone over the next year.

I really want to recommend this game. The pathfinder system adaptation is half-decent, most of the game is fun, but the endgame seems to have been written by a highschool GM who wanted to impress his players with the "EPICNESS" of the ending.

The pace of the game is annoying, and you're railroaded pretty hard. I want to like the game, but every time I try to play it, I feel like I'm just getting kicked in the nuts over and over again.

I almost wish you could take the core game system and load up modules into it, and just avoid the core storyline. The core storyline is just so bad.

Energy bar, limited task queue size, spend real money to speed up tasks/add more tasks to queue.... It's a facebook game in disguise. A nice facebook game, but definitely a facebook game.

If you LIKE Facebook games, then you'll love this. You play for 10-15 minutes at a time, just long enough to queue up some quests/whatever. You queue 8 hours of stuff at a time, so the game has the default 3-check-ins-per-day you expect from a facebook game.

Roughly 25% of your time is burned "refilling energy", unless you spend real money for energy refills. This makes the game pay to win, since anyone paying will progress 25% more quickly than those not paying. Real money can also buy you better equipment, personal/guild NPC stores, to insta-finish queued quests, etc....

Basically this game is just like any facebook game where you have to build stuff, and queue up building upgrades/new buildings/research. Just replace buildings/research with "quests".

It IS possible to buy the "premium currency" for gold on the auction house, just as long as someone pays real money for the premium currency and is willing to sell it. Of course, this cripples your in-game currency income, while the pay-to-winner leaps forward through the game at the speed of money.

All in all, it's good for a Facebook game, but again, still a Facebook game being disguised as an MMO. If you THINK this qualifies as an MMORPG, then every idle game with chat qualifies as an MMORPG.

tl;dr This is a pay-to-win game written in silverlight, exactly like every other pay-to-win Facebook game claiming to be an MMO.

Been playing this game for a while. Had the owner of the mulitplayer server I play on set up a custom planet for me one wipe. I'm a masochist and he's a sadist.

3.0.0 comes out, so server wipes. Start a new game on the new server, get lucky, escape pod lands next to a lake. I make it into the lake with 40hp left, 8 overseers, 2 crawlers and a spider hot on my tail.

Find a good patch of minerals, and start boring into the lakeside with my drill. Drop the survival constructor and O2 generator. Burrow some more, out of drill fuel. Crap.

Thing about this planet is, 0 visibility due to max fog, and all the seaweed lives outside of water (sadist). Die several times (30) while I get my tunnel-rat network established. The surface of this world is death, there's no fiber, you don't start with grow plots, and 12 overseers / 4 crawlers / some spiders and a few other nasties spawn per biome.

I decide to see if I can nick some grow plots from an alien base. Alien Fortress MK II with a Drone Base directly behind it... maybe I'll get lucky.

Use the cheapest method for base caps (0 visibility so ramming them with an SV is out of the question--you see a mountain by crashing into it on this planet) and tunnel up under the Fortress. Easy capture. Get some zasc and erestrum, so I head back to my underground waypoint base and spit out an Advanced constructor.

Promptly starve to death, but a respawn at the medic bay and I'm tunneling to the drone base. Then it happens: I'm 200m from the drone base, about 50m under the ground, and Ion Cannon rounds start exploding around me. 4 deaths later, realize tunneling won't work. Crap.

Attempt surface rush on drone base, eat laser cannon, 4 deaths later realize I need a new approach. Spit out a SuperCheap SV, manage to crash it into the base, kill the Ion Cannon that was shooting me underground, jump the fence around the base, eat hot lasery death.

Finally capture the base, no grow plots.

55 deaths sees me peacefully collecting Fiber on Akua. Canned Overseer-in-Tomato-Sauce is going to taste so good.

15/10, would die in horrible ways over and over again!
