Zombies is still fun and kickin' . The new maps are interesting and got tons of easter eggs and objectives to do.
There are several really well made custom maps as well.

Things that are new for zombies in BO3 are Gobblegums and Weapon loadouts.

Gobblegums are basically powerups you can earn by leveling up or rolling a slot machine for extra powerful effects.
Slot machine can be used with or without real currency. You gain the things you need to roll by simply playing and spending points in game.

Weapon loadouts allow you to level up weapons that are available in zombies and add attachments to them so when you buy them in game you will have your own personalized weapon.

My first complaint starts here, too many of the Gobblegums are absolutely overpowered and when playing public matches with people who all have strong Gobblegums, the game just becomes a non challenging experience. I'd personally prefer they would have made the ones that are really good less prone to be rolled in the slot machine.
Example: One of the effects give you all perks on the map. While it's classed as Ultra Rare it still pops up a bit too frequently imo.

The best improvement from previous zombies is probably the fact that pretty much every weapon is viable for high rounds unlike the previous two titles.

Is the game worth full price in 2022? If you only play zombies, then no, absolutely NOT considering you have to pay for the DLCs too to get maps. If you can find it for half the price, then it's definitely worth it.

If you simply want to play Zombies then I recommend checking out Plutonium T5 (bo1) or Plutonium T6 (bo2) for a great and active community with modding support for both bo1 and bo2.
