ArmA 3, a great source of controversy, and game from over half a decade ago. To list ArmA's all shortcomings would require an essay. So why do we all play it? It's because we all love it. ArmA, while a buggy mess at times is a wonderful host. And ArmA's replayability has kept us around for all these years.

Comparing ArmA 3 to other military games is honestly like comparing an apple to an applepie. For example Squad and ArmA 3. Squad has undoubtedly better graphics, and smoother gameplay, but that's it. In Squad, the playerbase is limited to a singular gamemode. In ArmA, the game has numerous gamemodes in vanilla in-and-of-itself. And what makes ArmA ArmA is the ability for the regular user to make their own world. Want a guerilla based gamemode, if you can make it, you can play it. In Escape From Tarkov, the players are limited to whatever the devs create. ArmA has no such issues, as the players are free to create pretty much whatever.

Keep in mind that I'm not trying to say 'ArmA is perfect no matter what', that's not what I'm saying. I am aware of ArmA's shortcomings as much as the next mate, but beggars can't be choosers. ArmA has proven to be a generous host, and since there are no alternatives to it, us the playerbase pays no mind to the issues Arma has.

ArmA 3. It may be expensive, run poorly, and have graphics dating back half a decade but there's nothing like it. Until ArmA 4 whenever Bohemia get's their stuff together, we are here to stay.
