Dungeon Defenders Awakened is a tower-defense game where you use 4 characters: a huntress, a squire, an apprentice and a monk to defend Eternia Crystals from the hordes of orcs and orgres. Each character possesses different abilities to destroy the opponents: the huntress is specialised on the traps whereas the apprentice is focused on the fiery, electric or plasma towers to destroy the enemies. Each of them has own advantages and weaknesses so using them altogether will make your defending the crystals with ease!

As an avid fan of DD franchise, you can find something good in this game:
PROS:
Old maps which look refreshing and beautiful thanks to the new but quite similar to DD1 artstyle.
The same old gameplay from DD1 WITHOUT some DD2 innovations which make game look cheap and lazy, really appreciate that.
New maps which do no clash with the main game style and really complement it.
Also, upgrading 4 heroes at once instead of 1 is a perfect time-saver.
DEVs are communicative and active enough to fix all the bugs in a short amount of time and listen to the community, which is a great advantage.
UI changes look impressive.

CONS:
No notable additions comparing with the Early Access, some promised additions like the tavernkeep or massacre survival aren't in game yet.
The hero pool is quite small, it could've been bigger.
Now you can play 16 maps with 4 characters + challenges, it's not a sizeable number to start with, hope new maps will be added.
Sometimes mobs stuck in maps, so the completion of maps becomes longer and it still persists in 1.0 Release.
New maps might look quite good yet they weren't convenient enough to place towers to defend the crystals on them, their amount isn't that big to enjoy the new experience for people who have already played previous DD games.
UI still needs polishing as tower stats and hero stats can be mixed altogether and it becomes difficult to manage the loot and gear up your character.


CONCLUSION:
Even though the game has been released, its contents aren't enough to keep you there for a long time, BUT for newcomers it's a great game, tower defense mechanics and massacre difficulty will make you adjust your gameplay to suit the needs of map completing. Especially if you're a new player you may like it with the price decrease, but changing the price three times isn't a good tactic to start with, though the move is understandable beucase it can stimulate new players to play the game.
Looking forward to new patches incoming.
Still wishing for a Neutral Review as the mixed reviews aren't explanatory enough when people go from one extreme to another.
