9.5 / 10, this game is excellent.
The voice acting, the amount of content, the characters, the story... it's all amazing.

There were some minor technical issues that were annoying, hence only 9.5, but 100% recommend this game if this is a genre you enjoy.

Accidentally carpet bombing your teammates is funny.

As Sony pulled back on the mandatory PSN link, I'll change the review to wholeheartedly recommended. The game is great, there's nice weapon variety and you have a really nice amount of options relatively early on, while not giving you a massive edge over people 30 levels below you.

There are a large amount of absolutely viable gear combinations and you can switch when you get tired of one, which can significantly change how you play together with your team.

As of now, they'll want you to link a PSN account to steam to continue playing soon, which is not necessary, will lock out people where PSN isn't available AND allows them to collect data on your steam account which they have no business having.

The game is amazing though, will change the review when they change this BS requirement.

This game explores dark themes. Mutual dependency, abandonment/imprisonment, mental issues, sexual tension between siblings, murder, mystery, cannibalism and demon summoning. It's not glorifying these themes.
They're portrayed in a way it is clearly a problem, despite the occasional cute moment.

It'll make you curious as to where the story will go, and you'll certainly be entertained.

If you don't like these themes, this game is not for you.

I found myself enjoying this game quite a bit thus far and can't wait for the next parts of the story to release.

Good stuff, well made for it's class. If you enjoy this genre, you'll have a blast.

[Edit] Issue seems "resolved" videos won't play still, but they'll skip instead of freezing the game.

If on Linux, as of this review, you will not be able to complete the game. I assume the same is true for the Steam Deck.
It is listed as "playable", and it's true the game runs perfectly - until it tries to play a cut scene. Then it will just hang and you cannot avoid cut scenes in the game (after a few hours, there will be one such cut scene).

There is also one in the main menu that plays after 30 seconds or so but I never noticed that before running into the issue in game.
As of right now (Proton Experimental and 7.0-5), it is impossible to complete the game.

Up until that point, the game is great. Love the game play, love the story, love the music.

Just excellent. It's very hard to take the non-Ranni endings.

Advertisement update (2K Launcher, "Quality of Life Update") broke Linux version entirely.

Avoid this game until they removed their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "quality of life" launcher. Doesn't currently work anymore on Linux/SteamDeck due to the launcher too. I was only able to launch the launcher (ha ha) once. It updated itself, since then it's broken.

The launcher is just there to shove ads in your face - after you paid for the game already mind you.

Long story short: Although this isn't the best in terms of graphics, it is a very nice game with very nice graphics. I'm glad I bought it years ago when it was still in early development. It is worth every penny.
