I made a review around November, from last year, on how Shadowverse was one of the best CCG out there. Now i am here to rectify that claim and say the Shadowverse is one of the worst CCGs out there.

Many reviews complain out the many p2w mechanics that Shadowverse introduced into the game and they are all valid. But to be honest, being a veteran player myself, it didn't bother me much. Maybe because it didn't affect me as other recent or middle-term players. What made me quit the game was something far worse.

ITS F***ING BORING!

To put you guys in context, the competitive scene (rotation mode) in the last three months of the expansion Brigade of the Sky was dominated by 3 decks. 3 EXACT DECKS.

Can you imagine playing against the same 3 decks over and over through 3 months? Yeah, it sounds amazing.

And what the devolopers do in these 3 months? Nothing. At least nothing good enough to balance the archtypes between themselfs. And so, we are forced to play decks that we get bored of, against decks that we are tired of.

Every game is the same. You can already tell on how it's going to go down by your initial hand.

A long time ago, since there were a lot of decks in play (or at least, lots of variations), you had to gamble, make micro-decisions and get inside your opponent's mind in order to win games. AND IT FELT GOOD. It felt amazing knowing that you made the right choice or that you predicted an unlikely scenerio but still pulled it off.

Now you know exatly how it's going to go. There's no decision making. There is only luck of the draw. Who goes first and who has the best hand. That's it.

There was a point in time where Shadowverse had a lot of potencial and was really fun to play. But its clear that the developers have clearly given up on it. And so have I.
