This game's really cool. Very short but really fun experience. Tons of movement options, which is what you want in your platformer. Tons of ways to break the game and get around places that 'aren't intended' and just a cool art low-poly artstyle.

While it is a Metroidvania, this game is not as linear as most. Think more of a baby Hollow Knight where you just kind of mindlessly explore and find movement upgrades and just use them to go to other places. I def went in a weird order but I also cheesed a few places. You're rewarded for experimenting and having fun and all that

overall, really good game. Anyone that likes to find tech in platformers and find ways to go fast or get more jumps should enjoy messing around with this. Worth the price

This is a short and sweet balanced little Amnesia game!

If you like the old Amnesia, this will give you a taste of that same feeling. I mean this in a very positive way, but it feels like a professionally made mod for Amnesia the Dark Decent. (And it feels intended? idk.)

The monster itself is really cool. The exploration is fun and really spooky. I don't want to spoil it all too much, but this isn't just a clone of Dark Decent. The light source gimmick with your flashlight is pretty cool! Technically an infinite source of light, but using it makes sound which attracts the monster.

Your MAIN source of light though is fueling the generator in the base which will light up the WHOLE base as long as it still has fuel. It's a pretty interesting concept and changes the formula up in an interesting way.

Other than that, its about what you expect. Go get handles to fix levers for some reason and solve little puzzles while avoiding the spooky monster. The monster certainly has a lot more depth than the one from Dark Decent so I'd give that a plus as well.

My only complaint is that for some reason they introduce inventory management. Like Resident Evil 1 style. You can expand it and its not THAT bad (looking at Signalis for Worst Inventory Management), but it is needlessly frustrating in my opinion.

Overall though, this was a really atmospheric game. It's short, but the price is cut to make up for that as well, and I think that's very fair. It's a great spooky experience all the way through. Really recommend it if you're looking for a classic short lil survivor horror.

Might be more worth the price on sale later if you're not an Amnesia fan, but as one, I was happy with it and can rec it even at full price!

I really wanted to like this game! I'm a fan of the 'Vampire Survivors' style of game and this looked like more of that!

While there is indeed some depth to building your character, overall there just doesn't feel like... enough in this game. The artstyle and game itself feels VERY much like a classic old flash game and there's some nostalgic charm to that, but I don't think it worked for me personally.

I find this game to be a bit too simplistic for my taste. There's maybe... 2-3 music tracks in the game, and while they're decent and I like them, they feel like they were taken straight out of a generic Synthwave playlist on Youtube.

This is another fault with the game. There isn't really any... cohesion? It's hard to tell what kind of theme this game is going for other than just 'those old flash games like from Newgrounds' and what not. Maybe I'm dumb and uninformed, but again, I just wish there was a bit more...? You are just... thing, and you are killing alien things. There is literally not even an attempt. Maybe this is a selling point for some people! Not for me, personally.

I think my biggest complaint though is the map. There is ONE map. The enemies in the waves are literally the same every time, other than upgrading the 'Danger' limit VERY slightly. It's just a slightly big square. Nothing on the outside, no enemy variation between runs... maybe a different boss at least? But it's just. too. samey.

If you're looking for a Vampire Survivors game (that isn't Vampire Survivors), I think there's better ones. Boneraiser Minions personally gave me that feeling of 'more' better than this one.

To end it, I don't think this is a bad game by any means. It's cheap. It gave me entertainment for sure. Maybe it'll be updated to have more? But as it is right now, I don't think I'd rec it unless you really like that old Flash style game nostalgia

It is weird this is mostly negative

it's a 2 dollar DLC that is advertised as 9 holes and being difficult. It's good! It's cheap! Play it more than one time and you'll do better! The fact this game is still getting updated all these years later is actually so cool.

Only one person needs to own it and the rest of the people in the lobby can play it with you however you want!

I am happy with it. It's a nice looking map with some fun design. I wish it was an 18 hole course, but that's it. Worth it imo

This game is a mess but I really love it. It's like Stardew Valley but on crack. You have just a ton of content, but make no mistake, the content IS really simple. It'd take too long to list everything but here's the main pros and cons that stand out in my mind at the moment

-Artstyle and graphics are really cute in my opinion! The environments are GREAT. I love the decorations, the mounts, the character design

-Writing is pretty decent too! I'd say this and the artstyle are where it certainly beats Stardew Valley. The romanceable characters have a lot more to say and have a BIT more character to them? I don't think it's perfect, but these people have a LOT to gab on about and honestly I really appreciate it. There's lots of stuff to read, even for non-romanceable npcs too. The worldbuilding and flavor text everywhere is fairly fun and adds quite a bit of charm to the game. The ACTUAL plot of the story is nothing interesting, but this is the norm for these games. If you just wanna talk to some chill characters and get decent bits of lore, this game should work for you

-The TOWNS. There's THREE towns you get to hang out at! I absolutely LOVE the Monster town and the Elf town. This is where the game stands out from Stardew-likes. Having these other cute towns and farms to take care of is genuinely really fun! They are, of course, lesser than your main farm in the main town, but they're still really fun and offer a lot to explore and look through.

Pro/Con - The gameplay is a bit shaky at best. They give you a LOT to do, lots of farming, lots of places to explore... it's honestly pretty nice, even overwhelming at first. The Numbers Go Up aspect is pretty fun if you're into that! But the combat itself is VERY shallow, the farming/making money aspect isn't too deep either, but it is Acceptable in my opinion. I think early/mid game is where this game really shines, but end game starts to stagnate pretty quickly. Luckily there is a LOT of content in this game.

Cons - Generally a very buggy game, sadly. I played almost exclusively multiplayer and had a great time, but we encountered MORE than a few glitches. Some were fun! Some were cool exploits! A lot were annoying or weird or forced us to reset. It hasn't crashed for me at least! Buuuut, the general unpolished nature of this game is disappointing and a fair negative point to it. I could see how it might ruin the experience for some people.

Late Game - Briefly mentioned this before, but the late game feels very... empty compared to the rest of the game. Maybe a bit rushed? Maybe the devs just ran out of steam, got burnt out? Maybe I was the one who got burnt out? Don't know. But even with the new patched ending, it doesn't feel all that rewarding or exciting anymore. The museum really doesn't offer as many cool rewards as you might like, there's not really any good late game mining to be done. The elf/spooky town mines are just... not good. I will be blunt. They are not good. Devoid of almost any fun that the main mines offer, just a place to hold left click and farm materials.

More on late game: Your marriage partners kind of stop mattering when you get married. There doesn't seem to be much, if anything, there. I believe Stardew Valley was very similarly like this near its start as well, but I can't remember. Again, the characters feel a lot more exciting and fresh at start/mid game, but when you run out its like... welp. There they are.

There are promised updates in the works that sound really good! I'm fairly optimistic as the most recent update genuinely was decent.

However, despite the cons, I'd say this game probably is one of my favorite games of the year. It's charming and was fun to play with my friend even if we mostly spent time just sort of existing in the same game together and chatting about it as we played. I'd rec it to Stardew Valley fans who want a similar game but don't want to replay the same one

This is one of those "I wish I could halfway rec this" because like nearly every Cthulu game, it's a cool concept but I wish it was better.

The game has a very strong start. It's really cool, the town and world and sounds are all VERY interesting and fun. It quickly starts to lose steam as characters are completely forgotten about, as towns become completely pointless, and as you find yourself with thousands of dollars and nothing to spend it on. It's still a really cool atmosphere, and the fishing is fairly simple and relaxing, but it will get old and sometimes annoying when you just want to catch a specific thing.

I regret buying it at full price as I honestly don't feel it lived up to it, but if you were to get this on a good sale or something, I think this would be a great little game to play around in. I just wish there was at the very least more writing in general, more following up with characters and towns.

Big Plus though! You can make the horrors out in the dark honk "shave and a haircut" back at you! That's just a great time imo.

I genuinely loved this game and feel it's been the best written Sonic media we've gotten in years. It was so cute and fun and full of good content for a free VN that was only 2 hours long. I really hope we can get more content like this

just play it if you even MILDLY like Sonic

This game sadly really sucks. If you're coming here from Call of Cthulu and thinking "it can't be worse, right?" Sorry, it can be.

Sinking City almost starts out with some mediocre potential. There was potential for this game to not suck butts. Unfortunately they went the "open world" route in this game for no good reason. The world is completely and I mean COMPLETELY empty of things to explore. There's no good/fun movement options or ways to get around. It's a buggy tedious mess. The gameplay mostly revolves around you looking up addresses and then spending 10 minutes to get to the correct address and then repeat that.

It could have been a fine game if they just kept it simple and smaller. The world, the characters, they're not that awful. But it's a slog to even get a glimpse at it. In this sense, I think even Call of Cthulu was better. The game at least could be completed in a reasonable amount of time. This one just goes on and on with almost nothing to look forward to. Filled to the brim with bloat, but the bloat is also just... so very empty.

If you really truly need a cthulu game well... I dunno what to tell you, but this game certainly is not it.

I like this game :)

It's a cheap cookie-clicker game but at the very least its capped at 30 minutes, so someone like me can't get stuck obsessing about it my entire life

if you like numbers go up, but don't want your entire life to run around it, this is a really great way to scratch the itch more casually

very worth the price

I really really like this game! Good music, good artstyle, really fun and fast gunplay. The writing is good when there is writing.

You can just hold W and go through the levels as fast as you want (my first playthrough) or you can go back and find all the MILLIONS of fun little secrets everywhere. Seriously, there's so much to find in the levels if you actually look, and some of the secrets are really cute. Really good replayability. Might be my favorite of the 'Doom-Likes'

The only real con I have for this game is that it's not finished yet. I genuinely think it'd be a much more fulfilling and fun experience to get it when it's out and completed, but it was still a great time playing it in its current state.
