More about tactics than fastest fingers, that being said it doesn't hurt to be fast! You just can't win matches alone.

Great game, main story play through takes about 20-30 hours if you work towards it full time. You probably won't through, you'll spend far more time than needed building bases, exploring and avoiding some of the larger scale monsters.

Has lots of replayability and a good modding community for a few little extras that can make alot of sense on a second playthrough. Make sure you run the first game vanilla for the full experience then hit up the mods (too many spoilers otherwise) for the repeats.

It goes from Beautiful to jumpy in seconds, not suitable for the very young or those with a nervous nature.

Enjoy!

Games pretty good, however the latest addition to PA, Titans is a significant improvement to the game. Unfortunately this is being sold as an expansion rather than an update. Which is leaving a pretty sour taste in the community. The added items are more units, higher tier units which could be classed as an expansion, however some of the other expanded items such as a full tutorial would seem more like updates for the original kickstarter backed game.

So the backlash is partially justified. I can't honesty recommend this game as a finished product as it just isn't. PA:Titans adds the 3rd technology tier of super units, something that was already present in the previous games (Supreme Commander) before it.

By all means get PA, but expect that you will be required to also purchase the Titans update/expansion to play the full game.

Still very much in the heart of the modding community. Great support from the Dev's on this front. Game has it's issues, mainly with vehicles bouncing over the landscape. Really not as well optomised for current hardware which is a real shame. Best advice I can give you is make sure the graphic settings are on high. The Arma game engine has a bad habit of forcing the CPU to perform grahics tasks if you set LOW/MEDIUM detail levels - on old PC's this helped where the CPU was often more powerful than the GPU - however in current machines with highly dedicated graphics processors even a "low end" graphics card should be run on high detail.

Multiplayer is great in this game, suggest trying the EPOCH, WASTELAND, and "INVADE&ANNEX" mods. EPOCH will require a big download as it's a total conversion with zombies and cool stuff, Wasteland is a straight mod mainly for PVP group/solo with lots of options for good fun and constant action. Whislt the invade and annex mod is great for large scale CO-OP PVE, with 30-60 players versus the NPC army.

Great port onto PC of a cult game. Very well optomised for PC games, decent spec machine is easily looking at 50fps+ and a high end maching will push out closer to 100fps without sweating too hard. Game is playable at 25fps which is where you'll be pinned initially with the VSync set to 50% in the settings. Untick that and you're good to go.

Plays exactly the same as the console version, would highly recomend getting an XBOX 360 pad to play on PC with - game switches effortlessly between pad and mouse/keyboard for the best of both worlds. My console playing buddy is highly jealous that I can plug in the 50" TV and kick back with the joy pad on a game that looks like it was meant for PC!

Buy this, buy a XBOX controller.

Bacon all the way.
