This game in my opinion is the best game ever made. Now I realize this game isn't for everybody, but the story touched me particularly as I could relate to it. It is an absolutely beautiful game, from the touching scenes with johnny and river, the beautiful sound track that really helps you delve into this tale, or simply the way that the story is told in reverse and keeps you engaged every step of the way. To express how much I enjoyed this game I will say this. I originally pirated the game to play it... I enjoyed the game so much that since then I've purchased 4 copies, 3 of which I gave to friends. I recommend the other games from freebird games as well, especially Quintessence (which is free), but To the Moon is a masterpiece, and anybody who can get through the game without shedding a tear is a monster with no heart.

The game does have some downfalls unfortunately, but the storytelling and amazing composition make up for these shortfalls in my opinion. First off, there is virtually no gameplay. The game is basically an interactive story, which is actually how freebird games roles. A lot of people will have issues with that, but personally it doesn't affect me, and the stories are so great that you oftentimes forget you aren't really playing. Next, it's really short. In total the game is approximately 4 hours long. There is an additional free dlc (not on steam I don't think) where you can get a bonus adventure with eva and neil, but even still it doesn't add too much playtime. Finally, I do think $10 is a bit pricey for 4 hours of gameplay, and frankly a game with very little replay value, but I am cheap and $10 is a lot of money for me to spend on something like this(hence pirating the game first before buying it). I would highly recommend picking it up when it's on sale (like the steam summer sale for $3, or as part of a humble bundle).
