Souls-like + loli in a nutshell. Easier than other titles in the same genre. Story is simple and to the point, well-presented.

Wild west meets steampunk meets vampires meets smash button action. The graphics are generally ok, not great, specially for a 2022 release. The characters are just plain awful. Maps are linear, and you constantly can't go back at some points, so make sure you grab everything before you move along. Story meh. Get it if you're craving for some smashy action and it is on sale.

Shione character evolution is stellar. The plot twists are nice and surprising depending on how much you dig the story. Combat has improved quite a lot from previous games in the franchise, and although the basic attacks may seem smashy, you need to care a bit more about skills to synergize your team. Overall this is a great RPG, specially if you already like the Tales Of franchise.

10 hours just to plant a white moonflower and get all achievements. 10/10 will play again on the next remaster.

Grinded to get 20 levels over the enemies. Still got beaten the hell out of it. 8/10

Word of advice? Levels are aesthetic on this game. Learn to use the right SAS to exploit Other's weaknesses. And learn to both be patient and perfect dodge on bosses.

Scarlet Nexus is a good action RPG. The SAS and Brain mechanisms are nice and keep the combat fresh. You also can't just "HULK SMASH" through the enemies - unless you want an early game over.

The equipment is very simplified so you focus on the story and combat. Weapon and plugin upgrades are clearly sequential and easy to follow - I spent little time on equipment management thanks to that.

Story-wise all party members have their problems and personality, and they do evolve and improve as you get to know them. The main story is nice, however personally the last 4 phases lost its logic to me.

They also overly abused the power of friendship, to the point that assassins and spies are trusted 30s after they say that they won't do it again. They also abuse classic clichés such as "no time to explain this" or "one day you'll understand". It doesn't ruin the story, however it clearly push the boundaries of common sense.

The story is very linear, and broken down into 12 phases. I personally don't see a problem on that, as I like both linear and open world games. If you prefer to roam freely, then this game is not for you.

Overall Scarlet Nexus has a good action gameplay and mechanics with a convoluted story and crippled RPG features. It is interesting if you are willing to invest half of your gameplay time into "bond episodes" to get to know your teammates and learn more about them, and eventually jump into a fast-paced, dynamic combat with Others using your friends' powers through the SAS.

The best campaign story in my entire shooter collection, by way far. If I'd make a top 10 stories from my gaming experience, this would be the second.
