Came for the action, stayed for Lyria. Great game, absolutely worth paying the full price and one of my favorites for 2024 for sure.

I never played the original GBF gacha nor am I a fan of the Monster Hunter series. Yet this game scratches a specific a itch I have: fast-paced action RPG that's not a smash button. It also doesn't have any "modern" BS like micro-transactions, gacha, timegating or any other stupid stuff. Its a full game for a honest price.

I'm quite impressed with the day-1 game that Cygames pulled off here. It runs with rock-solid and stable 60/120 FPS even during the most hectic fights. Graphics and art is unique and quite good. Controls are responsive and pleasant to play. Sports a great OST that really matches each moment in the game. All of this coming from a company that mostly worked on browser and mobile games since their foundation in 2011. This game alone puts triple A game studios to shame with such polished product, hands down.

Story is short with 20h tops, and has the usual tropes you'd expect of a JRPG. Yet its quite well written and designed. The MH-inspired end-game is where most of the time goes.
