I have my problems with both Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree, but I would be lying if I said I hadn't greatly enjoyed both. Like all of From's souls games, its a good game with a series of problems ranging from near unbearable to minor annoyances.
Still don't care about the lore.

I am a fair bit conflicted on this game.
I think its a fairly good game, it's probably the most fun actual combat loop from Team Ninja's recent games (Yes even more than Nioh 2). But the PC port is actual dog water, the game really runs terribly half the time. I was hoping the recent "optimization" patch would improve things but it really did not.
The online is also full of hackers so might as well turn that off.
It's a shame, I really enjoy this game and wanna wholeheartedly recommend it, but the PC port is really terrible and I have a hard time doing so.

I like metroidvanias I think they're cool

As someone who absolutely loves metroidvanias, Hollow Knight is on a tier of its own in the genre.

No matter how much you explore Hallownest, it always feels like there is another thing to discover right around the corner - a new boss to fight, a new charm, a new unexplored area. The openness and the ability to truly explore almost everything in whatever order you want is astounding. Paired with the beautiful art, lovely soundtrack and surprisingly intriguing lore the game just stands out on every aspect.

I strongly recommend it. And patiently wait for Silksong now.

One of the few roguelikes I actually enjoy.

Simple mechanics, put to good use. It does have its problems (Like I wish there was 'restart mission, not just a restart turn' button) and losing isn't as painful as other roguelikes. Playthoughs are as quick as you want em to be and it doesn't feel like you need to lucksack anything to be able to win at the end.

The mecs aren't as cool as they should be tho.

This game taught me that traffic is actually the worst thing in the world. The devil invented traffic lights.

One of the most fun Metroidvanias I've played in forever, with enough customization for several replays, a neat setting and story and enough challenge to be just right.
