As much as I used to love playing this game, I simply cannot recommend it for newer players.

Even just last year it was fine, only then it was slowly starting to show it's signs of decline. The player base is horrendous, and unreasonably toxic. The new updates are absolute garbage, it seems like the devs have stopped listening to their community and are more in for the money. BHVR strives for updates to buff survivors yet still make solo-queue players and killers suffer. This game is more of a competition where each side is sweating to try to win.

SWF bullying is very common and a huge issue in this game, it makes playing killer such a test to patience, not to mention the crap survivors will talk at the end of the match because they didn't get their way. Sadly SWF bullying also makes killers resort to playing unfairly because of past experiences.

The power ladder goes like this: SWF >>>> Killer >>>> Solo-Q

A majority of players now rely on using OP killers such as Nurse, Blight and Spirit because the other ones just don't compare in ability. It's either that or they rely on survivor mistakes, and that shouldn't be the case at all.

The problem is that BHVR does not listen to its player community with its updates and a lot of people on the team don't even play their own game.

There are still bugs from years ago that still haven't been fixed. Nothing about this game has been the same, and it's not going in a good direction. Not great matchmaking, different skill levels and RNG all are factors to whether or not you win or lose a match. I believe DBD has reached the point where it's also not that enjoyable as a game anymore and not as a game for leisure.

On top of that, this game is very grindy. Very. The fact that one cosmetic shirt bought with iridescent shards is literally HALF the price of a Killer/Survivor character is insane. Licensed killers/survivors cannot be bought with in-game currency, they must be bought with real money (as well as their cosmetics).

There are a lot of issues, and hopefully by a miracle this game will improve out of its current state. If you want to play this game, just know what you're getting into.
