Cute little psychological horror, definitely a lot longer than I expected it to be. Your buddy in the beginning of the game asks you little questions like finding out what your favorite color is, and that's the color that you play the game in! Lovely attention to details and how some information pops up unexpected later in the story.

I also loved how the game went from text to 2D and then 3D and so on. It kept evolving to go along with the effort that your buddy makes for you. I will admit that halfway through the game your character gets the ability to go into combat (which wasn't really a great experience), it was mostly just taking turns using attacks and was slow when moving the story along. Overall a great game for it's price, especially on sale!

Early Access Review
For a game in Early Access that got extremely popular, I can see the reason why.

This game is great! Round up any group of friends that you have and pray for each other's lives. Environmentally the creatures in this game are always a (not-so) pleasant surprise, and each moon you go to has different weather conditions that can make or break your quota that you need to reach. This game also has amazing proximity chat, which is the reason why so many people love it. Echoing voices, screams that suddenly get cut off. Getting smacked in the head by a teammate with a stop sign, running through dark corridors and always being labeled the most paranoid employee.

Has active online servers as well and allows mods for more fun. Try it! Time flies while you're playing. Cannot recommend it enough.

One of the best games to play when you are bored.
Has proximity chat with servers of up to 150 players. Pretty funny hearing someone blasting Kung Fu Fighting while charging into battle. The people who actually pick up accents, regardless of how bad they are, make this game beautiful. When the roleplaying officer comes into battle you know it's about to get serious. Love hearing the occasional "GIVE 'EM STEEL LADS" and "CHARGGGGGEEEE". A great way to show someone's character. I've blown up people, axed 10 enemies to death, got struck by lightning, and sailed with 15 men on one single lifeboat (we got cannon-balled within 30 seconds). Great teammates and hilarious community. Has musicians, and they have a variety of instruments like drums, flutes, bagpipes, violins, etc. The only issue is that when a woman talks in voice chat, right away some of the people make comments or shun you about it because "women don't play Holdfast". So just know what you're getting into.

But overall I really recommend this game, even if you play solo. You'll meet great people who are in the same boat as you (literally). There are many different roles and game-modes to try out and play, and there are so many battles to be won and lost.

A unique approach to detective-like games. The game style is stunning when you play the game, and you quickly get used to the lack of many colors. The ambiance is immersive, and the dialogue can either make you laugh, or wait sternly to see what scene lays behind it. The most fun thing was finding a body, hearing the dialogue and then boom. The scene is in front of you, in all of its chaos. Figuring out some of the fates was a bit difficult but the rest were a given if you pay really close attention to what is going on. You can't miss any details. Sometimes you have to go back to double-check and catch what person you didn't see before. This game was really made with loves of care, and is truly a masterpiece. It's a one time experience. I recommend to anyone who is curious enough to get their hands on it.

Worth the price, might seem a bit short but actually has a lot of interesting hidden things.
Has a few jumpscares as well as a bit of storytelling, there's a lot of things you can miss if you're not looking around or asking around enough. Grotesque horror game, love the vibe that it gave. (As well as some of the characters like Stan, definitely not Hobo Jo...) Looking forward to playing other Puppet Combo games.

SOMA had one of the most unexpected endings I could've imagined. The graphics and ambiance are amazing. At time it may feel like the game is a bit tedious, especially when it comes to certain monsters but it was well worth the work and wait, (all the crawling, WHEW). This game asks a lot of questions that no one really has the real answer to. It is sad. Very immersive and well played out story. I definitely recommend.

This game just released, and it is a beautiful gem. I would love to see multiplayer added into this game, it is an amazing journey solo but I feel like it would also be fun with a special friend or two. I would recommend this as a stress reliever as well, the pixel graphics are what make it cute and cozy. There are a lot of random objects, but that's what makes it fun! Love all the different biomes, colors, seasons, and interactive items (especially the snowmen). The critters top it off, they all give you a piece of their own advice, and the poetry tied into this game is wonderful. Very symbolic.
Also has steam deck support and in general doesn't require much. It's worth the price.

Early Access Review
Thought this game was a bit weird at first, but now that I put the pieces together it's actually a bit morbid.
You play as Andy the Apple, literally on an Apple Farm. Seems kind of funny right?
Thought the gameplay and characters were kinda quirky, decided to see what the story really was about and it is horrifying. You see the flashbacks during the game of what really happened. Would recommend to anyone who wants something to play at night. Love it. (Andy needs new friends...)

When it comes to psychological horror, this game does exactly what you want it to do.
It was truly an amazing experience for me, and did change my outlook on some things. It makes you think about your own life experiences, and what others are struggling with. How people break and how others pretend to manage. What people are willing to do when they are on the verge of falling into a void, looking at themselves in the mirror and questioning what it really is worth, and why it is worth it.
This game makes you feel paranoid. Scared. Yet eager to see what's next. It is meant to drag you down a dark corridor you didn't even think of entering. In perspective, you as the therapist (Desmond Wales), have to figure out what happened to your patients. Why they're all gone.
I personally loved every single tape, the unique stories (even Agent Rainbow's). Every patient is valued to you. They are all different. They all struggled in their own way. What's unique is that each patient has their own song in-game, and each song connects with their story. Each patient has a color associated with their name, their case, their life. The color is represented in their story and map, and is beautifully aesthetically pleasing.
The two ones that I loved the most were Virginia's and Max's because of the anger and the sadness. The dread. All the meanwhile, you have Agent Rainbow following you around, (he is an outstanding villain) and he voices your doubts, your fears, your worries. He is a part of you.
I would also do anything to experience this game for the first time again. Turning around and seeing something that wasn't there before, yet it disappears again just to mess with you. I will replay anytime. It is one of those games that you could come back to in 3 years and experience something different each time. It is truly without a doubt underrated. I thank my friend for recommending me this game, you truly did me a favor.

Great addition to the main game.
This DLC has more graphic violence in it than the original story. It is shorter than the main game, however it still feels long. Definitely worth getting when you get the original game. I enjoyed this story VERY much, (some people might say otherwise when it comes to Eddie's scene 0_0). Other than that this DLC also gives you easter eggs from the main story and see some of the background around what goes on in the asylum. It is definitely a yes from me.
10/10
