This game was released yesterday morning and I have over 28 hours played already.
I think this alone backs up my recommendation. I've been playing Monster Hunter since Freedom 2 back on the PSP, and the quality of life improvements of this one over other Monster Hunters is are astounding.

I don't tend to review games as often as I should, but Popup Dungeon has fast become one of my favourite games. The freedom to create and customise to make your own team just how you want them is my biggest point, but backed up by the writing and pacing really puts it high on my list.

There's a teacup character.
10/10 best game.

Seriously though, it's a great game that's ideal for quick play sessions. If you've found yourself a fan of the frantic VS mode of Spelunky, you'll likely love this one!

An absolutely incredible experience for me.
Once I'm in Audioshield I'm in for a while as I hunt through the perfect songs to flail around to. I'm usually knackered afterwards though!

Early Access Review
I'll be honest, I didn't really know what I was expecting this one. Sure I was expecting a rhythm game and maybe some catchy music to go along with it, but goodness me: what I got surprised me!
The amount of depth added through the nuances of each type of weapon and each enemy make you think quickly about your next few steps, and missing a beat can cost you your multiplier, your health or sometimes even your life altogether!
The result is a think fast game which will get you hooked on the beat. You'll dance through a room and eliminate all inside and you'll feel great for doing it~

Oh, and let us not forget using your own music... It's very easy to assign your mp3s to each of the levels and you'll find yourself flying along to a beat you've already learnt and it makes it feel such a unique experience. I find myself often playing quick bouncy tunes and flourishing my way through the dungeon, but watch out: when the song ends, you'll drop to the next level, and who knows what's awaiting you below?
