Since it's already been like this since Proton 8 I'd like to report the regression.
But it seems to be more-or-less hardware dependent....

after spending some time debugging I've noticed a ton of
8234.773:0208:023c:fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixerVol There is no support for 8 channels
lines in the Proton logs.
This made me me change my Audio Profile from Surround to Stereo & indeed, that was it.

Kinda quirky if you ask me.
Especially since older versions actually handle it better.

did you ever experience a very loud buzz, blocking out all audio, in certain games on modern Proton(GE) 9+ versions?
