A pretty interesting WWII game. Currently there are 4 factions, USA/Britain, Germany/Italy, USSR, and Japan. They each get a variety of early to late war equipment sorted into 5 battle ratings (BR).

Each player controls 1 soldier among a squad of AI who follow basic commands using the X key or simply follow you around. You will grind research points and silver to unlock and buy copies of weapons, starting from bare basic s tuff like springfield bolt action rifles, all the way up to experimental and rare gear like a 50 round drum tommy gun. Or a Kar98 to an STG44. Or an AA halftrack to a Pershing tank, etc.

Your battle rating will determine what other players you match against, and you can queue for one faction of your choosing or for all at once. A game can contain a spread of up to 3 battle ratings, and it decided based on the SINGLE HIGHEST item you have, so make sure not to equip higher rating gear until you have a few items of that rank spread through your roster.

You get to outfit your squads you unlock with the gear you researched, equipping every soldier. Each class gets different weapon access, with most having access to basic bolt action and semi auto guns, while stuff like gunners get machinguns, assaulters, medics and vehicle crew get SMGs, etc.

Because of the dumb ai following every player you can feel like you're doing well due to how high kill counts are, shooting an ai out of a squad is worth as much as killing the player for score and currency. This is the MAIN draw of the game imo, it feels bigger than it is and getting basic competency is easy, as you can contribute without being super try hard.

The vehicle combat is very similar to, and mostly ripped from war thunder, requiring you to kill the crew or ammo of a tank to destroy it, or make a plane lose control and crash from critical loss of a wing/killing the pilot. It can be kinda hard and finnicky, but they are powerful, especially after BR 1.

The grind is okay, but premium time is encouraged to give you more options of squads to bring into battle. Most premium squads are way too pricy to be worth considering imo.

Try it out and see how ya like it, and don't forget to get some engineers ASAP in all your lineups to build spawn points and ammo. Look up guides on how to upgrade your squads as the UI is a bit of a maze due to all the systems to level up. And disarm your soldiers before removing them from squads, so active guys can use their weapons. You don't have to play BR 5 if you want a more authentic experience. BR 2 and 3 have most of the famous historical weapons like the M1 garand, BAR, tommy gun, ppsh, mp40, etc etc.
