Early Access Review
A cute little game, with very combo-focused combat about abusing invincibility frames to do big damage.

It's been compared to risk of rain and hades, but that doesn't really hit the nail on the head.
Windblown has a LIMITED amount of slots for upgrades, so you have to make choices about your build. Vs something like hades where the only limiter is how many rooms long the game is, and risky rain which can loop forever into god runs. Here you may upgrade the level of your weapons and get little effects added on, but the passive items, gifts, are only one rarity and limited in slots, so how they change your build is limited. You may not be able to snag that health on kill if you want to stack 3 different burn status gifts.

The combat is fast and frantic, and quite satisfying when you get into it, being all about hitting that flow state and trying to stay in it to avoid damage, or stunlock your enemy to death.

The current sudden death mechanic in multiplayer is a bit annoyingly punishing, so make sure to share heal flasks as needed to keep your team healthy. Or you can play singleplayer to avoid the annoyance. Definitely consider picking it up with a friend though, I've still enjoyed multiplayer a lot with one bud.
