Quake-like strafe jumping that'll send you speeding across the map in a matter of seconds. Rocket jumping. Chunky sound design for your weapons. Twirling your guns like a badass. And a developer with a wonderful sense of humor that even extends to the EULA. You read that right; I read the EULA. I was hoping I would find some nuggets of humor in the EULA, so I decided read it all the way through. It did. It's worth the read for a few chuckles.

The movement feels right. The shooting feels right. The secrets feel secret-y (and right). The levels are very well-designed. Oh, and the music! To die for! Again...and again...

At the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon grumbling about how "The new games like them Overwatches don't have bunnyhopping!" I really do love strafe jumping and bunnyhopping in FPS games and feel complex movement systems like that can really add some fun to a game and miss it in recent games (#BunnyHoppingForPrez2020) and--while not a neccessity to have a blast playing DUSK--is just a hell of a lot of fun and I reccomend learning how to do it. The strafe jumping in DUSK works really, really well! Just like everything else <3

Developer New Blood has made a classic and I love them as much as they hate money <3

The spy used to have a fart grenade that caused people to trip balls. Sadly, it has been removed, much like servers that actually have people on them.

I played this way back when it was a mod, and there were usually around five or so populated servers. I looked forward to the steam release thinking it would boost the game's popularity and therefore its playerbase. Sadly I have not seen that, and in fact I would say there are fewer people playing than before the steam release. So uh, play this game. Please. It's a (free!) delicious cake made with layers of fast paced, bunnyhopping twitch shooting, and you can call your medic your "funk soul brother". The only ingredient missing is a consistent number of players, i.e. more than one server with people on it at a time (if you're lucky). There are organized matches, but my schedule only lets me play drop in/drop out pub games, unfortunately.

Also I once joined a match with a guy who did a perfect R. Lee Ermey voice and it was the most fun thing ever. Never saw him again :C

A fun game that's had quite a lot of love put into it that sadly has a microscopic playerbase. I feel this game would benefit from more advertising, such as a spot on the Store's front page, because as it stands this wonderful game is on its last legs, and I'm unsure if it can survive simply by word-of-mouth :c

I love having to do a 5 second animation of my character slowly moving his arms around his head like a puppet before I have to climb a ladder, then realizing that there are zombies above and below me on the ladder. I also enjoy climbing a ladder to a platform that I instantly slide off of, breaking my legs and draining me of all but a few drops of my blood. 10/10 would kill a guy for a tin of beans again.

I'm fairly certain at least 86.3% of people who bought this game (including myself) did so for DayZ*

*90% of statistics are made up on the spot 34% of the time.
