What is this game about?

This game is set in the world of Alien film series (starring Sigourney Weaver!). It is a story focused action-horror game which lets you experience the terrifying world of Aliens through the story of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, which you know is the main protagonist of the Alien film series. In this game, you discover the existence of the ship that belonged to your mother through its flight recorder which brings you to Sevastopol, a massive decommissioned space station filled with MANY threats, obstacles, puzzles, and enemies!

What did i like about this game?
  • Amazing art direction and concept which perfectly captured Alien 80s futuristic spooky space theme
  • Great storyline with lots of interesting characters, lore, and references which follows the Alien universe
  • Superb world and map design, creating the perfect stage for the storyline and the gameplay
  • Fantastic sound design which perfectly capture the atmosphere of the original Alien movie with the eerie and spooky SFX. Headphone with surround sound is highly recommended to fully immerse yourself into the game
  • Great balance of action and horror gameplay which allow players to choose their own playstyle with many tools and weapons that the players could choose to fight their way through the stages while still keeping a fair gameplay (no overpowered weapon and limited ammo)
  • Innovative gameplay mechanics, especially with Xenomorph unique and smart AI. The AI is always adapting to the players habit and playstyle which forces the players to think and improvise to navigate the stages in order to avoid the Xenomorph
  • Fantastic graphics and optimization, which easily run the highest settings no problem with 100+ of fps
  • Great controls and game mechanics, which are easy to understand

What i don't like about this game?
  • Other than the fact that this ominous game always makes you uneasy, there is nothing i dislike about this game.

A 10/10 action-horror game.

Basically....
  • Breathtaking world and environment
  • Don't play the game in the way that you would play any other Soulsborne games!
  • This game is highly focused on offensive combat between enemies and us, so rolling and evading is just a big no no if you really want to enjoy the game fully because...
  • The combat mechanics is an absolute perfection imo because it is very satisfying and rewarding. It might take a little time to get used to it, but once it clicks, it is a very addicting mechanics that makes you want to fight everything as long it has a sword.
  • The story is relatively great. It might not be the best story but it fits perfectly with the gameplay so i still consider it great
  • The world and map design are great. They keep the Soulsborne linear open-world map in which every area is interconnected to one another once you progress through the game.
  • The details of every location, environment, sceneries, and characters is astonishing.
  • The fluid characters animation in fighting and traversing through the world is just awesome to see
  • The prosthetic hand systems are great, giving you a variety of tools that you can use in combat according to your preferences.
  • The boss designs are awesome, with lots of memorable boss that goes in my top 10 fromsoftware bosses.
  • Awesome sound design and the soundtracks throughout every area and bosses arena (Yuka Kitamura is a hell of a composer)
  • Emma ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

There are still little nuisances here and there such as..

  • Weird stealth system. Enemies is dumb as a rock but i think it's not that bad considering it isn't a core gameplay mechanics
  • ...... That's it really. I really enjoyed this game throughout

Keep in mind that this game is relatively small and short in terms of content and the variety of things you could do in the world. It is only 12 GB in size, which to put in into perspective, there aren't many items, consumables, and the map is relatively small compared to other games, or even the Soulsborne games. This doesn't mean the game lacks replayability because story-wise, there are 4 endings you could choose to end the game, so if you are interested in the lore behind the game, it could be fun. For me, it's the combat mechanics that keeps me addicted and played the game for 7/8 times just because it is really fun sword-duelling everything and everyone.

I've never played the original RE2 so i obviously can't give a comparative score on whether it suceeds in reimagining the 1998 title but Resident Evil 2 Remake hits all the right spot in what makes a good survival horror games. It has;

  • Terrific map design and environments, with unique and memorable areas.
  • Wonderful sound design that adds a TON of atmosphere in every single aspects. From the door squeak, footsteps, to the ambience and music in every sequences and areas. It is recommended that you play with surround headset
  • Great story progression and character developments in the span of 8 hours
  • Great character design from the main characters, zombies, and bosses. Zombies and Mr. X's AI are great in adding tension and element of surprise in an already scary areas.
  • Wonderful inventory and weapon systems that forces player to be creative and efficient in managing their inventory
  • Great item/ammo placements. It gives the nuance of survival as items could feel scarce at times but at the same times, it always gives you something to get by.
  • Technically speaking, the game runs flawlessly and gorgeously as a result of RE Engine wonderful photorealistic system. The difference between low settings and high settings are barely noticeable as both looked wonderful.

However, there are some things that isn't so great........like;
  • The parallel stories system which gives a disconnected feeling between Leon and Claire story. As if both exists in a different dimensions because they only meet in the beginning and at the very end with no explanation on how they could solve the same puzzles in the same area and fighting the same boss without ever run into one another. However....
  • In terms of gameplay, it gives a lot of replayability as there are 4 campaigns (Leon A -> Claire B and Claire A -> Leon B) with slight changes here and there, adding to the story progression.
  • Processor intensive engine causes frequents stutter in certain areas and freezes in-between areas.
  • Reduced contrast and desaturated graphics which isn't too big of a deal at first glance but once you apply a Reshade and FX mods, you'll see the huge difference in how a slight adjustments could hugely increases the visual experiences.
  • Weird Anti-Aliasing options. The SMAA is too sharp and jagged while the FXAA&TAA is too blurry.

In conclusion, i very much recommend this game if you are a fan of survival horror and the resident evil franchises.

Okay, i'm going to give this game a review from the perspective of a guy who only played Doom 3 BFG (not even finished).

This game gives you a small dose of dopamine with each glory kill you perform. To put it even more simpler, imagine getting a headshot in a game ? it feels kinda satisfying right ? now imagine that satisfaction but multiply it by 3 times, thats what you're going to feel.

Hearing the stories itself can satisfy you and makes you want to play more. The stories is quite simple yet so badass, YOU are a guy who made a deal with satan to bring back your son but were ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the process and now you're VERY angry at hell and starts to obliterate each 9 layers of the hell that they decided to bury you with one of the tower in hell and seal you inside a coffin in the process. In the start of this game, your coffin had just been pulled from hell by an advanced human/robot lab that is using hell's energy for technology and now you woke up finding the place to be crawled and invaded by demonic entities. And now you're even angrier than before.

Fallout: New Vegas is the first game i played in the series and as far as i can tell, this game is one of the best RPG i've played since Skyrim (same publisher). The overall gameplay feels solid, neat interface and mechanics, combined with great storyline that lets you choose how you want your story to end. Every decisions and actions has a significant impact on your gameplay that made the experiences much more rewarding. You can side with any factions you want and fight another OR you can just be the lone rebel that stomps all of mojave.

9/10

The soundtrack is very gooooood by the way

This game execute the action and horror aspects perfectly. Every stage and mission is really good, each with their own unique puzzle and objectives combined with the perfect environment that they crafted. Oh, and don't forget the sounds. Damn it feels terrifying when the music starts but there's nothing around you (yet) and everything is dark. The upgrades systems were also pretty good with the items and stuff you need to find around the stages with variants of weapons you can bought.

Keep in mind that this game came out in 2008 so the technical issues such as buggy physics when V-Sync is off (30 fps lock when its on) can be quite annoying. Overall its still one of the best horror games i've played and is definitely worth to be compared to other big games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

TLDR: Dead Space is basically Resident Evil but in space.

T'was an absolute experience to have played this game. Much better sequel in every aspects of the game. Gameplay was really good even thought sometimes i cannot stand Lara's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and convenience throughout the game but still fun. Lara still looks really hot, even hotter than before (Tomb Raider 2013).

This is one of those games that you probably never play more than once but also the one you'll never forget.

8.5 uwu/ 10 uwu XD

What i really like in this game
- Amazing Map and Environment, combined with beautiful architectural design that can made you stand still just to admire the beautifulness of the map (Yes, i'm talking about Irithyll of The Boreal Valley)
- Great Bosses with unique style with little to none repetitive combat
- Great Audio, from the music in the main menu and bosses to every character dialogue was mesmerizing to hear considering the game came out from Japan
- Interesting Storyline continuing from the previous installments with several ending we can choose to end the series with.
- OK combat mechanics

What i don't LIKE about this game
- Limited variety to player that want to try something creative on the first playthrough as most of infusion item are unlocked in the mid to late game area
- Weird infusion and scaling system (maybe thats just me)
- Boring New Game Plus + as the only thing different about the NG+ and the NG is enemy HP and damage they give with no new enemy placement whatsoever making replayability almost redundant
- The Locked 60 FPS with constant stutter and framedrops in different area of the game
- No Power Stance ( boy i miss DS2)
- Lot of unbalanced early weapons
- Weird bonfire placements, some are just unnecessary and useless ex: Grand Archive and Dragonslayer Armour, and in some places are just totally useless such as the one in Water Reserve. Also i dont understand why all of the bosses have their own bonfire right after they died
- Sometimes, just SOMETIMES the hitbox is a complete joke

Conclusion : pretty cool i guess.

This game run surprisingly well with i3 7100 GTX 1050, no significant drop whatsoever. Very optimized, can't wait for the official release version. Probably will buy it.
